Prince George of Cambridge is perhaps the most famous six-year-old in the entire world. Behind his grandfather Prince Charles and his father Prince William, Prince George is currently third in the line of succession for the British Throne and is expected to one day become king.
The young prince has been in the spotlight ever since his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William introduced him to the world on July 23rd, 2013 (one day after Prince George was born). Over the years, the six-year-old Prince George has made headlines whenever he’s on royal tour with his parents and two younger siblings and/or at important Royal Functions. Some of these moments have gone viral and produced several memes (Check out Gary Janetti’s Instagram page for some savage and funny posts of the Prince of Cambridge).
Listed below are 10 of Prince George’s Cutest Moments:
In 2016, former US President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama came to England for an official visit. While in England, the Obamas had dinner at Kensington Palace with Princes William and Harry and Kate Middleton.
Before they left, The Obamas got a special treat as they got to meet Prince William’s and Kate’s then two-year-old son Prince George for the first time! In a photo that later went viral, Barack and Michelle greeted the young prince who was dressed in a white bathrobe for their first meeting.
The then-US President joked about the incident during his speech at The White House Correspondents’ Dinner a week later when he said “Last week Prince George showed up to our meeting in his bathrobe. That was a slap in the face. A clear breach of protocol.”
Although his parents tried to keep him out the public eye during his first year of birth, Prince William and Kate Middleton still brought their then eight-month-old son with them during their three-week-long state visits to Australia and New Zealand in April 2014. This marked Prince George’s first royal tour.
Despite making only two appearances (Excluding whenever The Royals were at the airports) on the tour, the press hailed Prince George as “The star of the show”. His two appearances were at a Plunket Play Group at Government House in Auckland, New Zealand and The Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. At the zoo, the young prince got to see the bilby that was named after him (see the video below).
At the Gigaset Charity Polo Match in 2015, several cute moments of a then two-year-old Prince George went viral. During the event, a very energetic Prince George was spotted (see the video below) rolling down a hill, doing some yoga poses, and taking a stroll around the lawn with his mother, The Duchess of Cambridge.
Pippa Middleton is the younger sister of Kate Middleton. She served as her older sister’s maid of honor at her 2011 wedding to Prince William and indirectly “stole the show” with her white figure-hugging dress. Since that moment, Kate’s younger sister still receives a lot of media attention around the world to this very day.
Although she’s technically not a royal, Pippa’s wedding to Hedge Fund Manager James Matthews on May 20th, 2017 still received heavy press coverage across the world. Her nephew and niece, Prince George and Prince Charlotte, were among the page boys and bridesmaids at her wedding. While the bridesmaids’ dresses were beautiful, Prince George and the rest of the page boys looked cute as a button in their outfits, which consisted of a Peter Pan style collared shirt, white tights, and khaki knickerbockers.
Besides their Aunt Pippa’s nuptials (See #4 above), another wedding where Prince George and Princess Charlotte served as a page boy and bridesmaid respectively was their Uncle Prince Harry’s to Meghan Markle on May 19th, 2018.
While I liked his page boy outfit at Pippa Middleton’s wedding better, Prince George still looked adorable in his uniform for Prince Harry’s nuptials which resembled the Blues and Royals uniform that the groom and best man (Prince William) wore for the big day.
For those who follow the British Royal Family, you probably know how great Kate Middleton’s photography skills are. Over the years, the Duchess of Cambridge has personally taken several photos capturing her family’s biggest moments.
Kate’s most recent photographs are the ones she took for Prince George’s Sixth Birthday Portrait. In one of the photos, the young prince is seen smiling, laughing and showing off his missing teeth. Prince George was wearing an England National Women’s Football Team Jersey (the photos were released a few weeks after The Lionesses finished fourth overall at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup).
Prince George’s grandfather Prince Charles turned 70 years old on November 14th, 2018 and two family portraits were released by Clarence House in honor of the latter’s milestone birthday. Besides those two, the other Royal Family Members in both portraits were Prince Charles’s second wife Camilla; his sons Princes William and Harry and their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle respectively; and Prince George’s younger siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
While the first portrait was a more formal picture, the second one had the royals posed more candidly, allowing the public to see the softer side of the British Royal Family. In the second portrait, Prince George is shown laughing with a big smile on his face while sitting on his grandfather’s lap.
Savannah Phillips is sixteenth-in-line for the British throne and the eldest daughter of Peter Phillips (who’s one of Prince Williams’s cousins) an Autumn Kelly. This makes her _ cousins with Prince George.
Over the last few years, Savannah and Prince George have made headlines and went viral with some of their antics at several Royal Events. Some of the duo’s most memorable moments include the time Savannah shushed Prince George during the 2018 Trouping of Color, when she pushed him down a hill at a polo event, and when Prince George couldn’t stop laughing when Savannah pretended to play an air-trumpet during Princess Eugenie’s (another cousin of Peter Phillips and Prince William) wedding in October 2018.
A then one and a half-year-old Prince George gave off his best (yet timid) attempt of a royal wave when his father Prince William brought him to the hospital to meet his newborn baby sister Princess Charlotte on May 2nd, 2015.
Of all of Prince George’s cutest moments on this list, this one is the most recent one to occur. Prince William (who’s also the President of The FA) and Kate Middleton took their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to see William’s favorite soccer team Aston Villa take on Norwich on October 5th (See the video below).
Aston Villa ended up winning the game 5-1. Throughout the game, Prince George was filled with enthusiasm and at one point, was seen bouncing up and down in his seat while watching all the action of the game. The latter moment went viral. Based on his appearance at the game, Prince George will probably follow his father’s footsteps by becoming an avid Aston Villa fan as well (unless his favorite Premier League team changes when he gets older).
