10 Pretty Polishes For Cute AF Winter Nails

Nail polish is a great way to practice self-care and accessorize any outfit. Winter is a great time to try out new polishes, especially bold and dark colors!

1. Terra Firma from G Polish

G Polish is a vegan and cruelty-free nail polish brand created by actress G Hannelius. This company is her labor of love and there are so many gorgeous polishes on her site! One that I have my eye on that would make a nice transition color from fall into winter is the shade “Terra Firma” from her new fall collection. This shade is such a pretty, dark purple-brown shade. It is neutral with a little pop of color mixed right in. This polish is a lovely everyday shade, but would also be stunning for a special night out!

2. Essie’s Rock The Runway

My personal favorite winter nail polish color is a classic red shade. “Rock The Runway” from Essie is the perfect shade for the holiday season! This shade is a candy apple red color and is apart of the gel polish collection from the brand. Step one is the shade of your choice, in this case, “Rock The Runway”,  and then you apply the clear, gel topcoat. There is no need for an LED light and it ensures that your pretty polish lasts for a few weeks without chipping off! If you are looking for a classic nail polish to last you through many a winter, then this one is the choice for you.

3. Smokin’ Hot from Essie

If you are into more muted, neutral tones, a nice gray shade may be right up your alley.”Smokin’ Hot”, again from the brand Essie, is a lovely smokey gray color that is just stunning for the winter season. It is a no-fuss color, as it will go perfectly with anything you wear and is sure to become a fast favorite for everyday wear. Even though this is not in the gel polish range, the formula that Essie has perfected is long-lasting and chip-resistant, especially when you also apply a basic base and topcoat. This shade is definitely on my winter polish wishlist!

4. OPI’s Stay Off The Lawn!

Another shade that is a great option for the holiday season, or to transition you from the crisp, fall to the chilly winter, is this deep green color from OPI called “Stay Off The Lawn”. This nail polish screams edgy and cool, while still being an approachable shade that can spice up your wardrobe just a tad, especially if you tend to wear mostly blacks, whites, and nudes. Dark green is such a classic winter color and it is certainly not going out of style anytime soon!

If dark nail polish shades are not something that you are into, a classy pale pink shade is a pretty option that you are sure to love! Sinful Colors offers a shade called “Pink Smart”, which is an affordable and stunning light pink. This color is a great option year-round and is a nice neutral with a bit of girly flair. I have used Sinful Colors nail polishes for years and I adore the formula and the low price just cannot be beaten.

6. Live Love Polish’s Aura

Live Love Polish is another cruelty-free and one hundred percent vegan nail polish brand, similar to G Polish in that sense. This brand is known for its stunning and very unique polishes, such as their shade “Aura”. To recreate the shade from the below photo, layer the gorgeous shimmer shade “Aura” over the classic black polish on the side which has been dubbed “LBD”. The effect that these shades create is a unique purple-blue gradient with lots of shimmer of course! I am honestly so impressed by the effect and must get my hands on these polishes as soon as humanly possible.

7. Mulholland from G Polish

Another glitter option on the more subtle side is another shade from G Polish, “Mulholland.” This nail polish is so reminiscent of the early 2000s with the silver color and its chrome-like effect. The rainbow chrome that is seen underneath the light is sure to match any outfit you put together and just adds a bit of fun and spunk to your life. If your dream has always been to live out life like Zenon (just me?) then this is the nail polish for you, my friend!

8. OPI’s Black Cherry Chutney

Going back to the dark and slightly more vampy shades is OPI’s “Black Cherry Chutney”. This is described on the OPI website as a black-red shade, which is a great way to slightly branch out if you stick to classic black nail polish on a daily basis. This shade is a combination of my two favorite winter nail polish colors, a black and a cherry red, making it the perfect one for the winter season!

9. Wine Bar from Live Love Polish

If purple is more your speed than black or red, then “Wine Bar” from the brand Live Love Polish is a wonderful winter color for you. The creme formula of this polish with a shiny finish is a staple to have in your nail polish collection, both for the winter season and for spooky season a.k.a. Halloween. This shade is just stunning on its own and I’m sure would also look fabulous as the base underneath a sheer, glitter shade such as “Aura” also from Live Love Polish. Either way, this nail polish is sure to look wonderful all season long.

10. Essie’s Yes I Canyon

Last but certainly not least, is this burnt orange shade from Essie’s Rocky Rose collection, “Yes I Canyon”. This nail polish is perfect for those of you who are still clinging to the fall season, much like myself, and is also a great one to keep around for the return of spring. Really, this polish can be used all year long of course and the creamy, opaque formula from this brand is certain to make that a possibility.
