Power Food That Will Keep You Looking And Feeling Healthier

Not everyone might know what power food is or how it can help you become a healthier person. Power food is essentially food that is meant to have more proteins and nutrition that other food. As you become a young adult your body starts to become accustomed to however you feed it. If you start with bad eating habits as a young adult you still have time to change those habits but it will be difficult.

I know from personal experience that as a college student you are always on the go. You do not have time in between classes and work which makes eating something that just gets postponed or just thrown in just whenever. However, eating is much more important to your health that it really would be silly to think of our health so carelessly. Eating McDonald’s or a Monster Energy are the first go to options for people whose lives are on the go.

Eating healthy does not mean having to eat a salad with lots of vegetables or go to an organic grocery store where most things will be expensive for the average person. This is where power food comes in handy because it is easy to incorporate into your daily diet and you can eat at any grocery store.

Here are some power food that will have you get you into healthier shape.

Soy Milk

Regular cow’s milk is what everyone is used to consuming. It has a sweet taste that goes perfectly with a box of oreo cookies. However, cow’s milk sweet taste comes from saturate fat which increases your levels of cholesterol. As a healthier option soy milk has less saturated which is perfect for people that want to lose weight. It also helps with other diseases related to sugar like diabetes.

Try to switch up things and try eating your cereal with soy milk. The soy milk will be a great choice for when you want to make smoothies or milk handshakes.

Almonds

Almonds are an excellent source of energy that keeps the body feeling strong. Almonds are good for your heart because they help maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Almonds can go with any dessert or salads. You can also have roasted, chocolate covered or regular almonds as snacks.

Edamame

If you have ever had a chicken salad with edamame then you will know just how it is. Edamame is the one vegetable that is so easy to get used to because of its unique flavor. Edamame is a great source for combating depression because of its feel-good hormones like serotonin and dopamine.

Avocado

Avocado is best known as the main ingredient to guacamole. Guacamole is perfect for get together and for dipping your chips in. Avocado are extremely healthy because how loaded they are with fiber and fatty acids that help maintain a healthy heart. Monounsaturated fatty acids are what give avocados the ability to help maintain a heathy heart.

You can incorporate avocado to your breakfast by adding it to your toast with eggs or with you rice. If you enjoy eating tacos then you will definitely want to add avocado with your meal.

Salmon is the healthiest fish that there is. It is the fish with the most vitamin B and omega-3 protein. Omega-3 protein is great perfect to maintain brain health because its nutrients. Carrots

As someone who wears glasses I know that carrots are the best way to help restore vision health. Carrots contain a large amount of vitamin A and fiber. Vitamin A is what helps improve your vision while fiber is great for people who want to lose or maintain a healthy weight.

Pomegranates are perfect for the summer because of its fruity flavor. Pomegranates can be consumed by themselves or in a juice. This fruit helps fight prostate cancer, arthritis, joint pain, improve memory and fights arthritis. If you have the time to consume pomegranates definitely take the time to invest in doing so. The health benefits are far too good to miss out on.

Adding these power foods can go a super long way when it comes to improving your health. Your health is something that is definitely worth investing in!
