Podcasts To Listen To On A Long Road Trips

Road trips can be long and boring. Especially if you’re doing it by yourself. So, to help pass the time why not listen to endless hours of podcasts? Podcasts are nice when you’re tired of music and you have no one to talk to. It helps your mind focus on something other than the same road you’ve been on for the last three hours. The best time to listen to podcasts is when you’re driving back to school after a break. It helps pass the time so well and allows you to think about something other than how much you’ve missed your friends.

1. Call Her Daddy

Now, you would be lying if the podcast “Call Her Daddy” didn’t spark your interest after all the drama that occurred between the two hosts. Also, the hoodies you’ve seen the girls on campus wearing that you saw the night before at the bar that says “I Am Unwell” that’s “Call Her Daddy” merchandise and it’s sick. You should get yourself one honestly. This podcast does not hold back whatsoever. Expect no filter, sex tips, storytimes, and so much more. It’s raunchy but in a good way. You ever heard of the gluck gluck 9000? Look up episode three. “Call Her Daddy” is honestly the unsolicited sex advice you didn’t know you needed. Alex recently had Tana Mongeau on the podcast and the episode does not disappoint whatsoever. If you want to giggle and have some new things to share with your girlfriends when you get back to campus then “Call Her Daddy” is your podcast for your trip. I promise you it will not let you down.

2. Crime Junkie

This is for my murder mystery lovers. Hello, I identify with you guys. This podcast will absolutely not disappoint. If you want to learn about kidnaps, gruesome murders, and honestly things that will make your skin crawl, then download the episodes from this podcast and buckle the f up. Listening to these podcasts while you drive will fill you with anticipation and questions that you won’t even realize that you’ve been driving for two hours already. Some of these are even two-parters. They provide so much detail that you can paint the picture in your mind and be fully immersed in the podcast while you drive. Some of them have a resolution and some of them don’t which can at times leave you frustrated. It’s also a surreal feeling when you snap back to reality and remember that all of the stories they share are in fact true stories. It can give you chills. The suspense that this podcast gives off will have you floating through time and leave you feeling like you’ve never gotten to your destination sooner before.

3. Views

If you are a David Dobrik fan and the four-minute and twenty-second vlogs just don’t do it for you then fear no more. A great way to listen to him and Jason Nash is by listening to their podcast. While their podcast is normally the stories behind what’s in the vlog, the lives they live are drastically different from the average person. So, it’s cool to listen to everything that goes on behind the scenes. Plus, who doesn’t want to zone out listening to Dobrik’s voice? I know I do. Another great reason to listen to this podcast while on a road trip is because David isn’t making vlogs right now. So how else are we supposed to keep up with him and his friends’ lives?! The podcast. David is regularly recording and releasing podcasts talking about what he has been up to and just explaining his life in general. It’s a great way to pass time if you just want to listen to someone talk other than yourself.

4. Anything Goes

Emma freaking Chamberlain. What can this girl not do? The obsession is 100% real. Emma Chamberlain is only 19 years old and killing the game on every level. So why wouldn’t she also have a bangin’ podcast?! Emma’s podcast is very on-brand for her. If you watch her videos, you know that she goes on tangents at times but she reals it is because that’s not the content she puts out on that platform. Her podcast is more about her life and just listening to her talk about family, give advice, and honestly just herself. Everyone can collectively agree that Emma Chamberlain is one of the most relatable Youtubers. I think that’s because she doesn’t really try to hide anything, she’s extremely genuine and unproblematic. Let’s be real, all Emma Chamberlain does is lay in bed and drink coffee, who else hasn’t been doing that for almost the last year? She is unapologetically herself which is why it’s so easy to listen to her speak for hours on end while you drive.

5. Barstool BFFs

With hosts Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, you are sure to hear some obscene comments. Being a newer podcast, there are not many episodes, so you could binge this with no issues. It has similar “Call Her Daddy” vibes but from what I’ve listened to so far not as intense. They have had guests on the podcast so it feels like it’s a lot of story time/Q&A episodes. The age difference between Portnoy and Richards is part of the reason this podcast is so great. Portnoy will not understand something and Richards can step in and explain. If you want to see that in action then watch their Youtube video where they play Boomer vs Zoomer. They have a great platform through this podcast that makes their guests feel comfortable to talk about the raunchy things that maybe they wouldn’t openly share with just anyone. This podcast is great when you have maybe listened to, too much “Crime Junkie” and need something lighthearted on your last hour of the drive. Or, you feel like laughing to some immature humor. The option is yours here because it is your road trip. Regardless, they are a change of pace compared to the other podcasts while bringing in guests that you know and maybe (?) love.
