If you haven’t already jumped on the platform sandal wagon, what are you even doing? This summer, elevate (no pun intended) your shoe style and try platform sandals! An upgrade from flat sandals or flip flops, platform sandals give you height and dress up a casual summer outfit while still being comfy! From neutral leather straps to fun rainbow colors, check out our suggestions for platform sandals you have to wear to elevate your summer outfits!
If you decide to only buy one pair of platform sandals to wear during the summer, go neutral! The classic tan leather will look great with everything, from maxi dresses, linen pants and cut-off shorts! Opt for a lighter shade of neutral to keep your looks light and summery although darker colors can work too! You can wear these everywhere especially at the beach, poolside, picnics and bbqs! The esparilla-style bottoms will give you an effortlessly cool look to go with all your beachy summer outfits and you can be sure that thanks to the style, you can wear them all day long without sacrificing comfort!

If you are anything like me, summer doesn’t mean putting away the dark colors, especially my collection of black t-shirts. If black is 90% of your wardrobe year round, there’s no reason why you can’t match your sandals to your look! Allow yourself to feel a little summery and get some black sandals with a more neutral espadrille-base so you can totally get away with wearing an all-black ensemble. Of course, if you just like having neutral options that you can pair with just about anything, black is a great choice so pair away with everything from short, dresses and more!

If you want a leather-looking sandal but are against using animal products, good news! You don’t have to sacrifice your style, comfort OR values! These Doc Martens are vegan and adorable making them the perfect summer shoe option! The chunky rubber platform paired with the strappy shoe gives total ‘90s summer time vibes while giving the comfort and durability of a good ‘ole pair of Docs. With them coming in a bunch of different colors, you can get a pair for every day of the week- we won’t judge!

There are two reasons why white summer sandals are a must-have. One, they go with everything all while giving a perfect summer vibe. Two, they make you look extra tan like you just got back from a beach vacation. It’s truly a win/win! Obviously, if you want a more casual look, the espadrille base is so cute and perfect for summer but you can always dress it up with a solid wood or cork base if you are looking to dual-purpose them for work and play. I usually get a new pair of white platforms in the spring and wear the heck out of them until the last warm days of Autumn!
I don’t care what anyone says, cheetah-print and leopard-prints are neutrals. At first, adding a pattern to your outfit may be a little intimidating but as soon as you just accept that it is a neutral pattern, you will be set free! Of course, you can keep it simple with jean shorts, white or black shirt and let the shoes do the talking or you can try pairing them with florals or stripes. I love a classic summer maxi dress paired with these fun sandals. It adds interest and fun to your outfit while maintaining comfort!

Whether you are going on a coastal vacation or you just wish you were, grabbing a pair of platform sandals that have blue and white stripes or other beach-inspired colors will instantly give you that cool surfer-girl vibes that are quintessential for summer. For this kind of sandal, look for some with cool details and embellishments like ruffles, knots, beads and more to add some interest! If you don’t want them too over the top, you can always opt for some interesting straps and call it good!
As previously stated, I’m a lover of all things black and that love extends even during the summer time. My collection of black clothing is so bad that if I buy something any other color, my family and friends are surprised! If you can’t stand the thought of even letting the base of your sandals be another color, go all out with a cool pair of super thick, rubber platforms! These are perfect to pair with any type of black clothing BUT will add an interesting element of punk to an otherwise sweet outfit. Try adding a pair of platforms like these to a floral maxi-dress and you have a fun outfit that will go from day to night easily!

If your wardrobe mainly consists of neutrals, try and add a pop of color with a pair of red platform sandals. Red adds a fun punch of color and is perfect for summer since it is bright and cheery! These red shoes look great with an easy outfit of shorts and a plain t-shirt or can add more fun to an outfit that is already full of color. I love pairing red shoes with solid color dresses and matching other accessories with the shoes. Headbands, bandanas or hats go well with ruby-colored shoes. And of course, you can’t go wrong with wearing these on the beach or for summer celebrations like the 4th of July!

Finally, what is summer without some rainbows? There is no better time to rock a rainbow print then the summer-time. The colors are perfect for fun-filled days of adventure, swimming and sigh-seeing. Let the shoes be loud with a rainbow base and holographic straps or tone them down with neutral straps and rainbow base. No matter what, they will add some fun and sunshine to your summer outfits!
