5 Places To Visit If You Love Food

For some, the best part of traveling to new destinations is not the different architecture, museums, or outdoor opportunities but the food. These travelers who love food will spend most of their vacation trying new cuisine and restaurants out. If cooking classes are a thing there too, they might try that out as well. It might seem like strange thing to spend your vacation focusing on the street food or fine dining, but many countries and cities really do offer out of this world food that is unforgettable.

It really is no wonder than, that many travelers who love food will purposefully choose places that offer a plethora of restaurants and cafes. For these travelers, good food is just as important as the history, activities, and culture of the destination. And it makes sense. After all, if you’re going to spend a lot of money on a trip, why not go somewhere that is going to give you the best food you can have? But of course it’s no surprise that finding destinations with amazing food can be hard. Some places obviously fare better than others. But there are certain places that are for sure to offer great food. Here are 5 places to visit if you love food!

1. Lyon

This french city is considered one of the best cities in the world for food and it’s not hard to see why. Food here is often rich and far from light. Although well known for it’s newer nouvell food, traditional Lyon dishes are no thrills and where the city truly stands out. Traditional food here focuses on meat dishes like sausage and tripe. But the great thing about Lyon is that today you can get anything from food at Michelin-starred restaurants to heart meals from family-owned bistros.

2. Singapore

The clean city is well known for its strict rules and beautiful architecture. But what is less well known is the food which is quite great. The cuisine is diverse here and full of variety. You can get anything from Satay to water rice cake. One famous dish worth trying here is the Singapore take on Curry Laska, which incorporates vermicelli, coconut milk, beancurd puffs, fish slices, shrimp, and cockles. 

3. New Orleans

This city is full of delicious and homemade food. Considered to be one of the best food cities around, New Orleans offer plenty to do for people who love food. Finding good and fresh coffee is easy here, and you’ll have to try beignets that are dusted with sugar here. Good shrimp is also common here, so it’s definitely a good destination for sea food lovers.

The big apple is known not just for its high density population and lively neighborhoods, but also for its high quality food. You can find anything from five star restaurants to dollar pizza here, making it a city that is relatively budget friendly in terms of food. Plus, there are so many restaurants serving over the top food here. From milkshakes topped with cake to rainbow bagels, this is the city where crazy food trends start.

5. Rome

Rome is not just a romantic city but also a city perfect for people who love food. You can easily find a high quality restaurant in this Italian city. There are so many places here offering fresh and tasty food. From fresh pizza to gelato, there is so much to love when in Rome. Many places also offer great pastas that aren’t too pricey.
