WE ARE NUMBER ONE! Yes ladies and gentlemen and students, UMass Amherst won number one best food at college campuses across all of America. That is a HUGE achievement. UMass Amherst has the best food you can get for college campuses. There are a ton of options for all kinds of eaters. The vegetarian, omnivore, vegan, paleo diet eating person, and junk eaters like me, will find something that they like. Here is a list of 10 food places you HAVE to show your parents during family weekend at UMass. (the first six close after 9pm!)
1. Hamp!
This is honestly the reason reason why UMass Amherst won best food on college campuses. Hamp has a great variety of healthy options that your parents are sure to like during family weekend at UMass. People like me who don’t particularly like healthy foods are able to find great options (and get their veggies!) Not only is the food great but the dining common is aesthetically pleasing. So for you Instagram food bloggers, you can enjoy your food in a restaurant type dining common. Hamp is located in the Southwest area of UMass Amherst and for people like me who live at Coolidge, we walk out the door and Hamp is right there. Double win, in my book! Plus it closes at 10p.m., late enough to get that healthy fix!
2. Berk!
Now personally Berk suits my taste buds more. I previously mentioned I love junk food. Berk has the best food in my opinion, so rich and many different options each night. It’s one of the busiest dining commons and is also located in Southwest, two minutes from Hamp. The awesome thing about Berk is that it has late night every night (except Sundays). There are specialty dinners those nights and many students, even those who don’t live in Southwest, flood Berk to get that delicious mac and cheese! P.S.: Hamp gets overcrowded easily since there are less chairs so definitely try Berk first during family weekend at UMass!
