Spring cleaning is only a month or so away and there are ten pieces of clothing you should purge this year. Let’s face it, we all hold onto items that we know we should be parting with. However, for some reason each year those pieces continue to hide in the back of our closets. You know those pieces, you hold onto them and say, “Oh I’ll wear it one day.” Here’s the tea sis: no, you won’t. It’s 2019, and we should be putting our best foot forward ladies and gents. Below are clothing items that need to be purged this year!
The first clothing you should purge is anything with tags on it. If you bought it last year and you haven’t yet worn it, it’s time to go! You may have bought it on sale or a whim, but in the end, it’s in the back of your closet taking up valuable space. You’re never going to wear it, and yes, you did waste money.
Free t-shirts are at the top of clothing you should purge. These are shirts that you would never have bought yourself. You know it. When are you ever going to wear that t-shirt from that random event you attended last year? Never, donate it!
That dingy white-ish sweater, shirt, etc. is clothing you should purge. The fact I even have to put this on here makes me cringe. If your whites aren’t holding up, it’s time to go and buy some new ones! Whites need to look white. You can’t be a grown person wearing a dingy white sweater.
Those thrifted, torn up jeans is clothing you should purge. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re attending college or freshly graduated. Overly ripped jeans have no business being in your closet anymore. Yes, they look cute for downtown, but they can’t be worn anywhere else.
We’ve all made poor purchases in our life, like that $500 dress that you bought for your senior prom. It’s clothing you should purge. There are items that we all buy, spend lots of money on, and they don’t work out for more than one use. We hate ourselves for it, but it’s better to get rid of than hold onto.
Clothing you should purge are novelties from vacation. When on vacation we buy things that we would never usually go for. Also, we stock up on souvenir clothing like our life depends on it. However, the only time you’re ever able to wear this stuff is to the gym or sleep. It’s time for those items to go!
You shouldn’t care how many shoes are in your closet as long as they all are comfortable. That pair of boots that you keep holding onto even though they cause blisters, trash. Life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes.
Along with dingy whites, faded blacks are clothing you should purge. There’s a chance that your favorite pair of black pants has seen better days. If they’ve faded to no return, it’s time to give them up. It just means it’s time to get a new pair!
Along with free t-shirts, canvas totes are another freebie that needs to go. Yes, they’re great for grocery shopping, but this year we’re saying goodbye. We’re going to go out and get ourselves some big girl totes.
Dingy sneakers, worn totes, peeling tops are all considered beat up. These are all clothing pieces you should purge. If there’s something in your closet that doesn’t look good, give it away. You should not have old or beaten up clothing in your closet.
