A little over a month ago we all pulled up to Boulder ready for our next big adventure. Now that we have had time to get situated, we have fallen into routines. Wake up–or at least try to–roll out of bed, go to class, go back to bed. Somewhere in there we’ve developed a routine of running into what seems like the same ten people all over campus. Keep reading if you’re curious to see if your frequent run-ins match up your fellow buffs’ awkward encounters!
You see them on your way to the bathroom, in the dining hall, and in the laundry room. You even see them as you’re passing by Norlin. Despite your frequent encounters, your friendship will never exceed a friendly smile and wave.
They’re in the basement of your dorm three times a week yet you swear they still don’t recognize you outside of that musty room.
Running into the poster pole by the UMC when looking at the campus map on your phone was embarrassing. However, it was even more embarrassing when you looked up and saw that someone totally watched it all happen. To make things worse, it seems like every corner you turn–there they are.
They are everywhere, and they are fearless. Why are they so big that they could double for Ralphie?
Yikes. It wasn’t them, it was you. You both found your people and now just exchange awkward smiles. It’s not like you thought you guys were going to be BFFs for life, right?
You were each other’s support system for the first day of recruitment. Now, you get super excited whenever you see each other out and about.
It seems like no matter what route to class you take, you’re always stuck behind this one person. Their head is down looking at their phone, and yours is up trying to find a way to dart around them without knocking over the people around you.
Props to these guys for going the extra mile to fit in some exercise and get to class on time. Hopefully you’re not literally running into these people on campus. I’ve had way too many near-death experiences with some people channeling their inner Lance Armstrong when I’m trying to cross the sidewalk.
Walk by any grassy area, and you’re bound to see a furry friend running around while their owner works on some homework. Nothing makes your walk to your most dreaded class a little easier quite like seeing a dog on your way.
It’s always fun when you’re trying to make your way through the masses and you spot a familiar face in the crowd. Especially, when it’s one of your closest friends on campus and you can stop for a chat even though you’re about to get lunch with them after your next class.
