10 Party Outfit Ideas You’ll Love

Now that you’re back in college, it’s time for seeing old friends, working toward that degree, getting back into all your activities….and the parties! Chances are as a college student, you’ve been to a party or two. Sometimes your the one who’s super amped about your weekend plans, leading the charge, or other times your friends drag you along to get you to have fun for the night.

To me, one of the most stressful things about going to a party is your outfit. I know this may sound silly and a bit frivolous but how you look can impact your mood at the event. If your not comfortable in what you’re wearing, it can lead to more anxiety for what already might be a stressful situation for some. So next time you find yourself with the weekend party plans, here are some looks you should check out!

1. Off-The-Shoulder Long Sleeve Crop And High-Waisted Jeans

This look gives you the benefit of weather a long sleeve, but without being totally overheated. The exposed shoulder allows you to show skin, without the fear of being freezing waiting outside for an uber to come or on a frigid walk. The cropped look matched with a high waisted jean allows the same effect on showing off your stomach but doesn’t leave you feeling overly exposed.

2. White Tube Top and Mom Jeans

Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day? Truthfully unless it’s pants or sandals, I really think this rule need not apply. A white tube top is a totally cute look for fall, and still shows off that last of your summer tan. Also, matched with a mom jean, the cropped nature of the top allows you to show off a little of your stomach, but not be worried about showing to much when your dancing or sitting.

3. Off-The-Shoulder Short Sleeve And Jean Skirt

Again the off the shoulder look is perfect for parties. It gives you the look of trying to be a little sexy, without seeming like if you tried too hard. Paired with a skirt, the look is amplified on another level and allows you to show off your legs without having to wear shorts because shorts should be retired after the beginning of October unless you live in a warmer climate.

4. Mesh Sheer Top And Jean Skirt

Possibly one of the most popular party shirts, a black mesh sheer top is the OG shirt. It allows you to basically be seen in either a bralette or a black cami, while still giving you some added coverage. If worn with a light blue jean skirt the contrast of black and the faded denim work together seamlessly.

5. White Tee With A Black Tank Dress

You’re not wrong if you think of the mid-2000s when you look at this outfit. While it may have been in style over a decade ago, certain variations of the tank dress over a tee is still on-trend. This is especially true if you stick to neutrals, like this look. It’s a very cute look and is more for someone who cares about the fashion of their look, rather than just showing off some skin.

6. Crisscross Dip Top And Ripped Faded Jeans

This outfit is sure to get you noticed. If you haven’t noticed a similar there thus far, you cannot go wrong wearing black to a party. But this black crisscross dip top takes things to a new level. It shows off a little cleavage, in a very tasteful way. Since it’s long sleeve too, you will be perfect wearing the shirt on a chilly fall night in case you get caught out in the cold and do not feel like bringing the dreaded fracket. Matched with a pair of ripped faded jeans and you have yourself a 10/10 look!

7. Black Tank And Mini Jean Skirt

We all know the worst part about thinking of a look is digging through everything you own and coming to the conclusion that you need to go out and buy more clothes. But what if you already held the items that make for a fire party outfit? A simple black tank and jean mini skirt make for the perfect party outfit. You look cute without lifting a finger. Plus for those who get easily heated, this could not be a better combination!

8. Sweater Tank And Jean Skirt

A look that still shows your in a summer mindset but moving toward fall. Sweater tanks are very on-trend and will allow you to stay cool this fall, while still being in line with the fashion rules of autumn. Paired with a mini skirt and the look is pure dynamite! Just be sure to tuck the sweater tank into the skirt, as it defines your waist and shows off more of your cute jean mini!

9. White Fitted Long Sleeve And Leather Skirt

This look is quite simple in nature but will surely make you stand out. Leather skirts are a totally fun bottom option, especially if you’re sick of squeezing into those old blue jeans. Matched with a simple white long sleeve, and you have created a perfect tone balance. Just be sure your top is fairly fitted. A white top that is too loose could lead to unnecessary bunching.

10. Velvet Off-The-Shoulder Long Sleeve And High-Waisted Jeans

Velvet is one of those 90s fabrics making its way back into the fashion scene, much like denim has done. An off the shoulder velvet top matched with a pair of high waisted jeans is a classic look that proves that you not only have style, but you’re not afraid to show some skin. I would stick to dark shades for both jeans and the top. They blend nicely together and plus we all know that dark is better at parties where the possibility of getting something on your outfit is highly likely.
