Pancakes is an American staple as far as breakfast food goes! We all usually love a good pancake that we can drench in syrup and feel full off of. A fluffy, buttery flap jack can be a great start to your morning or even be a great ending to a night of breakfast dinner. This food is the epitome of American breakfast and can be cooked in a variety of ways. With restaurants like IHOP and Dennys that specialize in this particular food, there are tons of flavors on the market.
With a pandemic going, cooking our own food had been a new adventure for some of us. Pancakes are not hard to make but an be difficult to perfect as far as the shape. Adding specialized ingredients can make a world of difference in the taste and not so much texture. This food is hard to dislike because its so satisfying with its soft and fluffy center, crispy corners and buttery finish. If you are a beginner in making breakfast, try making pancakes and perfecting your own signature flavor. This list of flavors are meant to inspire you into becoming your own pancake connoisseur.
This pancake will blow your mind! We all like our food somewhat familiar because we know what to expect right? With this flavor your taste buds wouldn’t know what hit you! Banana is a universal flavor for a wide variety of food choices, especially dessert or sweet options. So its not going to be a surprise that banana pudding pancakes are awesome! With the sweet flavor of banana paired with the fluffiness of the pancake, you are sure to have a winner.
The pudding aspect of this food brings the creaminess. If you’ve ever had banana pudding as dessert, then you know how creamy it can be. This pancake is paired well whipped topping as at the top or you can stick to your traditional maple syrup. You will not be disappointed with hybrid!
This one is one of the easiest out of this list. This pancake literally requires you to just add chocolate chips, easy right? While the batter is the biggest element of any pancake, it really is in this pancake alone. While this food sticks to really simple elements, you can play around with the quantity of chocolate chips and the type. There are non sweet, semi sweet, dark chocolate or white chocolate chips. There is a nice variety that you can choose from or mix and match.
If you’re not the biggest chocolate fan just add a few in the batter and on top for a nice aesthetic. If you are really feeling bold adding chocolate chip cookie bits can be a sweet add on. I’ve never had that kind but I’m sure it will satisfy any sweet tooth cravings. Grab a good old bag of chocolate chips and starting making your own concoction and let us know how it goes!
Who loves some good old mix fruit? I do! Fresh fruit is the best as breakfast or a snack. It all satisfies the soul without feeling like you ate 2000 calories in one sitting. Thid fruit can be applied to food such as pancakes. Because pancakes are fluffy and bread like in nature adding fresh fruit will take it up a notch! There are alot of options that you can do such as strawberries, mixed berries, peaches, and many others for a refreshing kick.
You can opt for frozen fruit, fresh fruit or canned fruit. It is whatever you prefer! Make sure all the fruit is cleaned and cut into pieces before mixing it in your batter. This pancake will have you feeling refreshed and ready for your day!
I know my mother and sister will love this one! For all you caffeine fanatics this combines two things for you in one! Most coffee drinkers like a cup of it in the morning and by adding this into a pancake, you’ve got a winner. You can do a scoop of whatever brand you like or make it into a liquid by using hot water and add it to the batter. I preferably would make it as a liquid adding some flavored creamer and then mix into the batter.
You can use whatever creamer as well if you choose to use it. This duo is a good one for a bed and breakfast type of morning and should not be rushed when first attempting to do it. Coffee is real strong and you don’t want to give yourself or no one else a caffeine rush that will blow them through a whole week. Take your time and find the right measurements for you.
Omg! If you ever had horchata then you understand my excitement for it! It is a Hispanic drink made with rice, cinnamon, condensed milk and water. Everyone has their own way of making it but its so good. Turning this into a pancake was the best ideal who ever came up with it had! The sweet cinnamon paired with milkiness of the taste is mind blowing.
I first tried this pancake at a Dennys and fell in love! This pancake will take some work. Stores do sell horchata already made and can be used in the recipes but you know home-made always hits differently. Don’t be intimidated though, practice makes perfect! Even in pancaking making!
This one right here is kind of basic but good! This pancake requires a syrup made from butter, vanilla extract and brown sugar. You melt those ingredients into a liquid and add to your batter. After completing your pancakes add a slice of butter and some syrup! You’ll be the talk of breakfast because it seems simple but has big flavor.
It can be sweet but it depends on how much of the ingredients you put! I like to go big, so I do an adequate amount to get that flavor pay off. Try out your version and see if you create something new!
