Aside from the iconic characters, jokes, and relationships that came out of the ’90s sitcom, Friends also gave us some incredible outfits and styles to emulate. A lot of these trends have been back in style for a while now, and they’re not all that difficult to recreate! Here are fifteen of the most iconic Friends outfits and how you can incorporate them into your wardrobe.
In the first season of Friends, Rachel has a ton of iconic looks. This one is definitely near the top of that list; her cute, effortless hairstyle with this cute skirt and mock neck top is peak Friends style.
You can replicate this outfit by pairing a white or gray mock neck top (hers is even a light sweater material) with a red and white plaid skirt.
Monica’s style is often overlooked in favor of the fashion-savvy Rachel Green, but she has some incredible looks throughout the show! This is one of my personal favorites, and it’s probably one of the easiest looks to recreate.
Simply pair a red tank top with a pair of ‘90s mom jeans and white sneakers, and you’re good to go!
Forever the queen of classy and cute, Rachel pulls of this professional looking outfit while still looking like she could be on the cover of a magazine.
Whether it’s for the workplace or just for going out, you can replicate this outfit pretty easily. All you need is a fitted white button down, a gray blazer/jacket, a black miniskirt, and a pair of sheer black tights.
Phoebe was known for having some of the funkiest and most dynamic clothes on Friends, and she has so many fun pairings when it comes to her wardrobe choices. This effortlessly cute ensemble is one Phoebe’s best looks.
To get this look, go for a denim button down and a fitted white t-shirt for the top, and a blue floral skirt for the bottoms.
It’s no surprise that many of the Friends outfits on this list will belong to Rachel, but her wardrobe is just so iconic! This black and white ensemble is simply timeless, and super easy to recreate.
Just go for a pair of sleek black shorts (or a black miniskirt if you’re not a fan of shorts on tights), a USA graphic top, and again, sheer black tights.
As evidenced earlier, Monica looks incredible in red, and black miniskirts are a ’90s style staple! Monica puts the two together her, and it results in one of my favorite, most underrated Friends outfits.
Again, pair a black miniskirt and tights (linked above) with a fitted red shirt and a classy, red and black jacket, and you’ve got the look!
It’s not always about street style; sometimes, it’s all about being comfy! Rachel had some great cozy outfits, but this pajama ensemble is one of her most iconic looks.
You can get the exact same Knicks sweatshirt that Rachel wore, then slip on a pair of plaid pajama pants, and you’re good to go.
Phoebe wore some wild dresses on Friends, but this classy black maxi dress totally stands the test of time.
You can wear a simple, white, long sleeve mock neck shirt and a pair of black boots, and then layer it with a long, black, buttoned dress. Bonus points if you wear some funky necklaces!
Rachel is usually looking super classy and ready to hit the town, but she takes a refreshing step back with this cute and fun look.
By just wearing a fitted, light green t-shirt and a pair of dark, denim overalls, you can totally recreate this subtle Friends outfit.
This simple, mostly black look is nicely complemented by a few stylish additions, like the light stripes on Monica’s pants and the white rimming on her t-shirt.
Snag a black shirt with some small detailing, a pair of striped, loose pants, and a black tote purse to replicate this ’90s outfit.
Phoebe brilliantly pairs some fun colors with neutral tones in this layered look, and it’s one of my personal favorite Friends outfits.
To recreate this and give it a bit of a modern twist, first grab an orange/brown jacket, and then throw on a stylish beige tank and finish it off with a floral skirt. Once again, bonus points if you add some bold jewelry!
Rachel is a fashion guru, so of course she’s incredible at making even simple, comfortable outfits look cute and classy.
This chic look can be replicated by pairing a tight-fitted brown tank top with pleated, khaki-colored pants and a cozy, over-sized cardigan.
I love the range that Monica shows in her style on Friends, and this sleek and contemporary outfit is the perfect example of how her fashion can fall into the elegant, feminine side.
By simply layering a white, long sleeve collared shirt with a fitted, black mini dress, you can recreate this modish outfit with ease!
Silk skirts are super in style right now, so what better outfit to replicate than this gorgeous Rachel Green look?
Wear a plain, fitted black long sleeve and pair it with a floral, silk, copper midi skirt in order to get that effortlessly chic vibe that all of Rachel’s outfits give.
One of Monica’s go-to looks is a button down with those classic, ‘90s jeans. This outfit is absolutely timeless, and at some point in Friends, all of the characters wear a variation of this ensemble. So, you can’t go wrong with this pairing! Just add a chunky black belt to finish it off.
