Outfits Based On Your Favorite Harry Potter Characters

When I picture the Harry Potter movies I imagine them like Christmas movies. They are always set in the winter so it’s my favorite series to watch snuggled up with a warm drink. Sometimes when I watch the movies I like to imagine how I’d style an outfit based on some of my favorite Harry Potter characters.

Harry Potter

Yes, the chosen one. The boy who lived. All of his titles and he’s dressed the simplest out of every character. I imagine a Harry Potter inspired outfit to be a simple casual wear. He doesn’t seem like the kind of person to be into really flashy clothing. Maybe a simple denim jacket and a black turtleneck. You don’t have to go too complicated when it comes to Harry Potter because above all of his other names he is really just a simple guy who wants a better life for himself.

Ron Weasley

Ron Weasley is also a pretty simple guy just like his best friend Harry. He gets a lot of hand me downs and handmade clothes from his mom. I think he’d appreciate a good thrift look, maybe a nice big orange coat and simple black beret. It speaks to the elegance of his soft and innocent nature while also keeping to the warm tones he loves so much. You can’t go wrong with an outfit like this, it’s really easy and anyone could wear it.

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger was always one of my favorite characters in Harry Potter. I loved how forward and intelligent she was. She was very clever and always knew how to stand her ground. Her confidence is something every little girl that watched or read about her aspired to be. When I imagine a Hermione inspired outfit I picture something schoolgirl esque. Probably a blazer, plaid skirt, and hat of some kind. Either a bowler hat or a simple beret. I think this speaks best to the kind of person Hermione is. She’s studious, preppy and well put together.

Draco Malfoy

Did someone say Draco Malfoy? Yes, son of Lucius as we all know who his father is. Draco was never a character I really liked but my Slytherin nature can’t deny he was entertaining to watch. He had a quick tongue and a pretentious attitude which could be associated with his upbringing. Darco never was given a chance to be good even though we all knew there was potential. A Draco inspired look would be subtly flashy, like he wants to show off but he doesn’t want to be too obvious about it. There’s an elegance to Draco that can be unnoticed but if you see the way he carries himself he can actually be pretty poised. I imagine a Draco look would consist of a green silk dress with lots of openings. A very wide-brimmed hat will attribute to the flashy nature but take off the hat and you’re left with a beautiful, flowing, and elegant dress.

Luna Lovegood

Luna Lovegood is one of the characters that we truly wished got more screen time. She was odd and funny at the same time and you couldn’t help but love her for it. A beloved character by all she truly was a joy to watch and read. For a Luna look, I think something mismatched with lots of colors would be just her style. Something new in fashion is layering your clothing so I’d imagine her layering a puffy shirt over a long skirt with some bright socks. Anything fun and cooky speaks to who I picture Luna as a person would be.

Albus Dumbledore

Dumbledore is the beloved headmaster of Hogwarts where all the students go to. He is wise and caring of all his students, especially a young Harry Potter. When I imagine a Dumbledore outfit I picture something monochrome. Just a simple plain color for the whole outfit because it speaks to Dumbledore’s simple nature. Something like a nice beige sweater and some beige pants would work great for a Dumbledore outfit.

Get The Look:

Minerva McGonagall

One of my favorite professors at Hogwarts is Minerva McGonagall. She is witty, smart, and very strict when it comes to the students but it all comes from a place of love and caring. She would do anything for the well being of the students and the school. As simple of a character as Minerva is when I picture her inspired outfit I imagine it to be dark and elegant. A nice black puffy shirt and maybe a wool casual witch hat to go with it because even in casual attire she’s still a witch and she’ll show it.

Severus Snape

Severus Snape is brooding and cold to his students. Scary even to most of them. He comes off as cold throughout the whole series till the end when you find out he’s actually been caring and loving this whole time. He worked as a double agent for the betterment of Harry and Hogwarts. An outfit I picture for Snape would be obviously all black and very sleek. A black button-up shirt and black pants. Keep the look all monochromatic by just wearing all black everything.

Get The Look:

Bellatrix LeStrange

Personally, Bellatrix is probably my favorite villain from the whole series. She was very entertaining to watch and completely crazy which made her character even more interesting. She was pure evil and a true disciple of the Dark Lord but nonetheless, she was a fun character to watch and I was always silently rooting for her. A Bellatrix themed outfit for me would be dark and flowy. A see-through black dress and underneath it a black bodycon. Pair that with some black boots and ruffled hair and you’ve got yourself Bellatrix.

Voldemort

Finally, we speak on the Dark Lord himself, Voldemort. Formerly known as Tom Riddle, Voldermort was a student at Hogwarts a long time ago. He had the idea to experiment with extending life which led him down a dark path of evil. Now one of the evilest beings in the Harry Potter universe he also is Harry Potter’s sworn enemy. Picturing a Voldermort inspired outfit I imagine something flowy and dramatic. Similar to Bellatrix but flashier. A see-through black flowy top and an intricate black bralette.
