Despite the new trend of dewy-natural-fresh-faced looks kicking around atm, a good foundation is still an essential, even if it’s just for the occasional event/ night out. Foundation products and the brands that make them are always going in and out of fashion, but we’ve got some staple foundations that have stuck with us through thick and thin, regardless of the latest trend. 

1. Luminous Silk Foundation- Giorgio Armani

This designer foundation is certainly worth the high price tag. With lightweight application, seamless coverage and a luminescent, long-lasting finish, not to mention the fact that it comes in 15 shades, this foundation is one we swear by.

2. Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation- Estee Lauder

Another more high-end product that’s totally worth the spend, Estee Lauder‘s “Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation” does what it says on the tin. Giving you a full coverage, weightless foundation in more than 60 shades, that gives you a dewy, flawless, velour finish that’s also smudge-free, this product is one of our all-time faves.

3. Magic Foundation- Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury product features invariably on every single one of our beauty edits, because, let’s be real, it’s one of the best all-round brands out there. And the foundation doesn’t let us down. A full, even coverage foundation that’s super-soft and creates an airbrush finish, in 15 demi-matte shades with the purifying effects of an expert skin cream, this foundation certainly works its promised magic.

4. Born This Way Foundation- Too Faced

A foundation that comes in 35 different shades, this product is perfect if you want a subtle glow, but not a full-face-shine.
