Dear Mom and Dad, first and foremost, I want to start by saying something that you probably don’t hear often enough – thank you. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for me, not just during college but my whole life. You have always made sure I had not just what I needed, but also what I wanted, so thank you. Thank you for never pressuring me to do anything and reminding me that my school work is my first and only priority and that you would take care of the rest. Thank you for always reminding me that I’m never alone and can go to you with anything. This open letter to my parents is honest and so very true!
Thank you for the little things like cleaning my room and doing my laundry for me, so I would have a clean room to come home to after a long day at school. Thank you for not getting mad when I study my butt off for a test, but still don’t do as well as I could have. Thank you for always reminding me that doing my best is enough. Thank you for giving me my space when I need it. Thank you for being my rock during freshman year when I was going through one of the most difficult parts of my life. Most of all, thank you for simply being the most amazing, supportive parents a kid could ask for. This open letter to my parents is a big thank you to you guys!
Image from giphy.comI also want to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all the times your acts went without a thank you. I’m sorry for all the times I got impatient or gave an attitude. I’m sorry for the times I locked myself in my room instead of spending time outside with you. Overall, I’m sorry for any and all the times I was difficult and ungrateful. This open letter to my parents is also an apology!
I’m sure there’s a ton of things I missed and forgot to thank you and apologize for, but I’d say this is a pretty good start. I want you to know that every little thing you do for me does not go unnoticed and is appreciated more than you know. One day, I hope to be able to repay you and do for you what you’ve done for me all these years. I can’t wait to continue making you proud my final semester of college and beyond. This open letter to my parents is a huge thank you to you guys!
