If you’re anything like me, you value beauty rest over a beauty regimen. But wanting a solid 8 (or 9 or 10) hours doesn’t mean you don’t want to put your best foot forward when you walk out the door. Follow these morning beauty routines for a big impact without the fuss. Below are gorgeous on the go makeup looks that are super easy and won’t take long!
Channel your inner Cara Delevingne or Lily Collins with this dramatic look, but keep the rest of your makeup super simple, so it’s not too overpowering for the day time.
Step 1: Since the brows are the focus of your look, you want to make sure to pluck any stray hairs. Also, take a brow brush and brush upward to get all the hair moving in the same direction.
Step 2: Using a brow pencil, outline the bottom and top lines of the brows to create a defined arch. Try using e.l.f.’s Ultra Precise Brow Pencil, which is a brow pencil and brush in one.
Step 3: Fill in your brows with a brow pencil or brow shadow that is slightly lighter than your natural brow color. This will help fill in all the gaps in your brow. If you are using a brow pencil, make tiny upwards strokes with the pencil to give the illusion of hairs. I like The BrowGal’s Convertible Brow Powder to Pomade Duo. This three-color palette acts as a powder when dry and as a pomade when wet, so it’s super versatile.
Step 4: Using upward motions with your brow brush, blend your lines to give a more natural look.
Step 5: Sweep some light eyeshadow, highlighter or concealer along your arch to open the overall eye.
This is my favorite look! It’s so easy, but adds instant polish and flair to your whole look! I typically go completely natural when I rock the bright lip, but if you’re not comfortable with that, pair it with some tinted powder or a light foundation, mascara and a little gold or copper eyeshadow.
Step 1: Exfoliate the lips! Since your lips are the focus of this look, you want to make sure they are smooth and flawless looking. There’s nothing worse than bright colors on cracked lips!
Step 2: Depending the lipstick you use, you might want to use lip liner. Personally, I don’t have a lip liner for every color lipstick I own, so I opt to use clear lip liner. This way, my lip liner is versatile, no matter my mood. I use Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide on Lip Liner in clear.
Step 3: Apply lipstick, pat off excess and go! My go to bright lipstick is Sephora’s Lip Story in First Class (Matte finish).
Helpful tip: To avoid lipstick on your teeth, put your finger in your mouth and press down with your lips. This will remove any excess that could end up on your teeth.
This is the perfect look for summer or if you’re going for that fresh faced/natural look. I usually complete this look with tons of mascara to open up my eyes and a little tinted lip balm. My go to is Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose.
Step 1: Mix a dime size amount of liquid highlighter with a dime size amount of tinted moisturizer or BB cream with SPF. I mix NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Golden Peach Pearl with e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20. Apply all over your face in upward strokes
Step 2: Add a little color to your cheeks using a tinted cream blush. Try Tarte’s cheek stain in Pink Coral for a nice sunny flushed look.
Step 3: Set with a little bit of translucent powder or a setting spray and you’re ready to walk out the door!
