Books have recently been enjoying the successes of their market, and non-fiction books especially are more popular than ever. Whether that’s self-help books, tips for wellness or somebody’s memoir, there are so many out there that are worth being read. Here are 10 non-fiction books you need in your life!

1. The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson

This ‘self-help book’  by Mark Manson is a really cool read that talks about the author’s personal life experiences which illustrate how life’s struggles often give it more meaning and that is a better approach than being constantly happy. Essentially, it’s an anti-self-help book as he uses blunt honesty and profanity to illustrate his ideas and he explains how accepting things and taking it easy makes life so much easier. Also, it has been on the New York Times Bestseller list for more than 128 weeks, so definitely check it out!

2. The Wonder Down Under by Dr Nina Brochmann and Ellen Stokken Dahl

This little gem of a book is meant to bring awareness to many questions that have to do with sexual education. Written by two professionals, it’s actually not written in a very complicated language but it still gives you so much medical knowledge about ‘the wonder down under’. It is a must-have for any girl that wants to understand her body, what is happening and how it’s happening! 

3. Naturally Tan by Tan France

This funny and heartfelt memoir by the star known by everybody from Queer Eye has quickly become a hit amongst everyone. Even if you don’t know who Tan France is, you will learn so much about his growing up in a very traditional household in England and how he became the first openly gay South Asian Man. It has witty observations of everything from social media behaviours, celebrity encounters, fashion tips and so much more! 

4. Three Women by Lisa Taddeo

The hype about Three Women is absolutely real. This book features the stories of three women and their personal evolutions. The stories are very intimate and the author spent eight years studying them and treating her characters with real fictional character depth. It’s well worth reading and you won’t be sorry you picked it up!

5.  How To Do Nothing by Jenny Odell

Redirecting our attention to our natural surroundings is Odell’s way of eliminating the digital world that is possibly torching our abilities to live and enjoy our moments. This guide to doing nothing the author wants us to realise how in a world where being productive 24/7 is how we determine our value, the art of doing nothing is particularly important. Thoughtful and very fun to read as well!

6. A Brief History Of Time by Stephen Hawking

A big curve from the ‘self-help’ books theme, but this classic is definitely one you need in your life! This popular-science book talks about space, time, gravity, black holes, and many other themes connected to astronomy and physics that you don’t even have to be a total physics-genius to understand! Even though its seemingly complex language, this book has more than 10 million copies sold, so it is definitely a classic you have to have!

7. A Room Of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf

Another classic, this еxtended essay by Virginia Woolf is definitely a must-have for everyone’s book collection. Her observations on questions regarding women and society are brilliant and although maybe not everyone’s pick – a definite recommendation from us!

10.  How To Get Sh*t Done by Erin Falconer

In How To Get Shit Done, Falconer shows how to blow off the patriarchal model for productivity that women are constantly made to follow, making them feel like they’re not doing enough or what they’re doing is not good enough. The book teaches you how to do less in order to achieve less and it’s a brilliant piece of non-fiction that you need on your nightstand for when you need to get sh*t done!
