Finding the right skin care routine can be tough, but once mastered, should be an integral part of every one’s daily routine. Experts say there should be one skin care routine in the morning and a separate routine at night. There are many cases in which we just can’t muster the energy after a long day to make it to the sink and take care of our face. Some have intricate routines and regimens that they practice before bed and some can’t be bothered. Both are understandable, but there is a simple and easy routine even the laziest of us can do. Here is a simple nighttime face routine for all us lazy girls out there.
The first step in obviously the most important, as it requires you to wash the day’s makeup, dirt and oils from your face. Before you do anything else, make sure you wash the day away and say goodbye to all the stress and grime.
For those with oily skin, try a light, oil-free makeup remover that will remove the day’s oils, but won’t dry your skin out. For those with dry skin, a remover with a soothing hydration works just fine. For all the lazy girls out there, a simple makeup remover wipe will do the trick. This is one of the best nighttime face routine items!

For those with oily, combination, or acne prone skin, this may be the most important step of your skin care routine. Toner is perfect to use in between the removal of makeup and facial cleansers because it rids our skin of the peskiest of the day’s dirt.
Using toner in between will not only help with removing said dirt, but also helps to shrink pores and combat tough breakouts. On top of this, it helps to reduce further breakouts from occurring. This is one of the best nighttime face routine items!

The next step is to wash that face. The makeup remover wipe was great but they don’t always get everything. This may sound repetitive, I know, but with all of those “water-proof” makeup products, we sometimes need a jack hammer to get the day’s products off our face. So, make sure that not only excess dirt and makeup is removed, but also get rid of those dead skin cells lurking on your face.
You don’t want to sleep through the night knowing the remnants of the day was resting on your face. To get that squeaky clean feeling, make sure you incorporate this step. For those with dry skin, try a cleansing lotion with coconut oil and for those with oily or combination, once again, go for an oil-free product. This is one of the best nighttime face routine items!

This is an important step, especially for those with dry or combination skin. Before you go to bed, it is vital to make sure your skin has the proper hydration and nutrients throughout the night to rejuvenate while the rest of your body does as well.
For oily skin, make sure you get a moisturizer that is, you guessed it, oil free as to not agitate and produce more oil on your skin throughout the night. In between on certain days, you may want to try a moisture-intense serum to revive your skin. This is one of the best nighttime face routine items!

In short, I know when it comes to that time at night and we would much rather turn on Netflix and doze off, but pull yourself back up and follow these very simple steps that goes as follows…
First, take off all that makeup, dirt and grime. Second, apply toner to get additional dirt and grime and keep one eye on those breakouts. Third, cleanse and wash away any lingering dirt and finally, moisturize. It is as easy as one, two three. Well one, two three, four, actually. Your skin will thank you.
