‘90s kids rejoice! According to an announcement in late April, Nickelodeon’s hit game show, “Double Dare,” will be returning this summer after flirting with the concept of resurrection. The show does not have an air date set yet, but it will be on the air sometime this summer. The revival will feature 40 new episodes of the TV game show.  The show became a Nickelodeon classic with the likes of “All That,” “Legends of the Hidden Temple” and “You Can’t Do That on Television.” We can’t wait for the return of Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare!”

The show

Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare” combines trivia questions with messy physical challenges to make for an entertaining yet informative game show for the viewers. Two teams compete in these challenges to win prizes in each episode, and the episodes end with the top team taking a run on the obstacle course. However, both teams won the cash they earned while competing on the show, so no one went home empty-handed. One child audience member in the past described the show as “better than ‘Wheel of Fortune.’”

30th anniversary

About a year and a half ago, Nickelodeon held a 30th Anniversary episode of the game show. The show originally aired from 1986 to 1993, which made the show the network’s longest-running game show and had a brief return in 2000. The show was originally hosted by co-hosts Marc Summers and Robin Marella, but there is no word on who will host the revival of the show.
