There are countless NFL Memes around the internet that will give everyone a great laugh. Besides making football fans laugh, some NFL Memes can be straight-up savage af.
As I stated previously in my article “12 Memorable Times That Athletes Were Trolled By Fans”: “Professional Athletes not only receive a lot of attention from the media and fans for their skills, but also for their actions on and off the sports field.” The same thing can be applied to sports teams too based on certain plays made during the game and for anything newsworthy that happens to them during the offseason.
Depending on how hilarious, ridiculous, and shocking these incidents are, some of them turn into viral NFL Memes that fans will roast players and teams for many years to come.
Now, with all of that being said and in no particular order, take a look below at the following 12 NFL Memes That are Savage AF:
Even when The Atlanta Falcons finally win their first Super Bowl title, they will still be roasted for blowing a 28-3 in Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots. After trailing by as many as 25 points (28–3) during the third quarter, The Patriots, in a historic comeback, rallied to win Super Bowl LI 34-28 in overtime.
Even though Super LI happened three years ago, NFL fans, to this very day, still roast the Falcons for choking and blowing a 28-3 lead. Many have even designated March 28 as an unofficial holiday to troll the Falcons with 28-3 jokes, which result in a plethora of Savage NFL Memes.
Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll’s decision to pass the ball instead of running it with 26 seconds left in Super Bowl XLIX resulted in Patriots rookie Malcolm Butler making the game-saving interception of Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson’s throw. Carroll’s decision not only prevented The Seahawks from winning their second consecutive Super Bowl but also resulted in the Seahawks being forever trolled with savage NFL Memes about the 1-yard Line.
The NFL Draft is the event of the offseason that produces hilarious NFL Memes. One of the most talked-about moments of the 2020 NFL Draft was when The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second round.
While Hurts (who played for Oklahoma for the 2019 College Football Season after transferring from Alabama, where he played for three years), who was the runner-up for the Heisman trophy last college football season, was considered a Day 2 prospect, nobody expected the Eagles to draft him when they have Carson Wentz (who is a talented quarterback when he is not injured).
The photo below, in my opinion, was perhaps the most savage NFL Meme to come from The 2020 NFL Draft. For those of you who don’t know, here is how both Wentz’s and Hurts’s backups replace them and win a championship: The Eagles won Super Bowl LII in 2018 with Nick Foles (also the MVP of that Super Bowl MVP and involved in the next meme below) replacing an injured Wentz (Wentz tore his ACL in The Eagles’ Week 14 game vs. The Rams); and Alabama won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game after Tua Tagovailoa replaced Hurts at halftime.
In his NFL Career so far, Quarterback Tom Brady has played in nine Super Bowls and has won six times. This makes Brady the NFL Player with the most Super Bowl Wins with six. All nine of his Super Bowl Appearances were with The New England Patriots, the team he played his first 20 NFL Seasons with (Brady left the Patriots in March and signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
Brady’s three Super Bowl defeats are one of the many things that he gets roasted for. As of the 2019 NFL Season, only two NFL Quarterbacks have beaten Tom Brady in a Super Bowl: Eli Manning (the recently retired New York Giants Quarterback beat Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowls XLII and XLVI) and Nick Foles (Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles beat Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl LII). As a result, there are many NFL Memes out there (see the Featured Image and the photo below) joking that Tom Brady’s fathers are Eli Manning and Nick Foles.
Part of the reason why memes in general are funny is due to the double meanings behind them. You are truly an NFL fan if you understanding the double meaning behind why this NFL Meme below is such a “Killer” Photograph.
Antonio Brown made headlines for the wrong reasons throughout the 2019 NFL Season. His erratic and diva-like behavior attracted tons of criticism and ridicule from NFL fans. Click here to see a timeline of his controversies. This meme below is one of the many savage yet funny NFL Memes that best describe all of the seven-time Pro Bowler’s antics.
Besides throwing interceptions, the one thing that NFL Quarterback Phillip Rivers gets roasted for by fans is the fact that he has NINE KIDS!! No, I am not kidding, Rivers and his wife Tiffany (who have been together since middle school) share nine kids together: Halle (17), Caroline (14), Grace (13), Gunner (11), Sarah (9), Peter (8), Rebecca (6), Clare (4), and Anna (1).
Many fans created several NFL Memes about The number of kids that the legendary Chargers Quarterback (who left the team after signing a one-year, $25 million deal with The Indianapolis Colts this past March) has. After Anna’s birth, several fans have joked that Phillip could now field an entire offensive with just himself, wife and their nine children.
With social distancing measures being put into place due to the coronavirus pandemic, many fans wondered and posted several NFL Memes (like the one below) about what/how the living situation is like for Phillip Rivers and his family.
Former NFL MVP Cam Newton is among the most popular and savage NFL Memes not because of his playing abilities, but for the outfits that he showcases during post-game press conferences. It’s very rare not to see “Cam Newton” trending on Twitter as a result of NFL fans roasting him for his latest outfit.
Some of the most savage NFL Memes (and memes from other sports too) on the Internet come whenever there’s a holiday. The content used for NFL Memes for Valentine’s Day Cards is absolutely hilarious. For any sports fans reading this article, I advise that you send your significant other some of these NFL Memes Valentine’s Day Cards for Valentine’s Day next year.
One the most viral NFL Memes from last season came from Dallas Cowboys Starting Quarterback Dan Prescott, who literally set the internet on fire with his pregame warmup dance prior to The Cowboys’ game against The Minnesota Vikings.
Many NFL fans posted clips of The “Dak Dance” set to various songs (see the video below). The “Dak Dance” instantly became one of those NFL Memes that had everyone, including NFL Players, talking about. Even Ezekiel Elliott, one of Prescott’s teammates, celebrated a touchdown by doing the “Dak Dance” in one of their games after the Cowboys-Vikings Game.
On July 4, 2015, NFL Linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul made headlines after suffering a serious hand injury as a result of a fireworks accident at his home. The accident was so bad that Pierre-Paul, who won Super Bowl XLVI with The New York Giants, needed to have his right index finger amputated.
While this incident is no laughing matter, it doesn’t stop people from creating and posting Savage NFL Memes about Pierre-Paul’s Fireworks Accident, like @NFLHATEMEMES did below on Instagram:
