12 Natural Beauty Tips To Keep You Looking And Feeling Your Best

Looking beautiful isn’t just about having good style and applying flawless makeup. Beauty is taking care of your body and your mind, and feeling as good as you look. Check out these 12 natural beauty tips that will leave you feeling refreshed, energized and gorgeous!

1. Drink Tons Of Water

Considering our bodies are made up of 60% water, it kinda makes sense that the best way to keep ourselves feeling good is to stay hydrated! Drinking more water will make your skin glow, give you more energy and naturally cleanse your body of all the yucky stuff we don’t want to hold on to. Start your day with a big ice cold glass and you’ll feel more energized and refreshed the whole day! It’s estimated that we should be drinking about 2 liters of water a day, so find yourself a cute re-usable bottle and get going!

2. Take Your Vitamins!

Nowadays you can find a vitamin for just about anything, so it’s no surprise that there are vitamins to keep you looking and feeling beautiful! Biotin gummy vitamins taste great, and they work wonders for dry hair, nails, and your skin. Vitamin E is perfect for adding a little extra shine to your mane, and multivitamins will help you maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle. The great thing about these vitamins is that you can find them in just about every drug store, and they work with the chemicals your body naturally produces to keep you living your best life!

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is the holy grail of natural beauty products because it has literally endless uses. Use it in your hair to make it grow long and healthy, or make a mask and use it on your face to reduce puffiness and hydrate your skin! You can even use it as an all-over treatment to soothe your skin. Our skin is our bodyguard from all the germs and harmful toxins we encounter every day, so why not treat it to some well-deserved pampering? You can buy Aloe Vera in already packaged containers, or you can buy your very own aloe vera plant and try your hand at growing your own beauty products!

4. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is packed full of nutrients and good stuff that keep us feeling healthy, and most people use it as a healthy cooking alternative. But coconut oil is meant for so much more than cooking! Because of its greasy quality, it can be a bit overwhelming, so use it sparingly! Coconut oil makes a great natural makeup remover and it leaves your skin feeling baby smooth. You can even heat it up in the microwave and make a warm hair mask to leave your hair feeling silky smooth!

5. Use Baking Soda With Your Toothpaste

Whiter teeth is always on our beauty bucket list, but if you have sensitive teeth, whitening trays and bleach treatments may not be the best option for you. Baking soda is a natural whitener, and it’s a mild abrasive which is fancy talk for the fact that baking soda is gentle enough to use on your teeth, but tough enough to get rid of those surface stains that can leave your teeth looking dull and dingy. Does it taste super amazing? No. And it’s not minty, so using it alone could leave you feeling less clean than you’re used to, so we recommend using a sprinkle of baking soda with your normal toothpaste! Get ready to flash those pearly whites!

6. Take Care Of Your Lips

Our lips see a lot of wear and tear, and when it comes to beauty and skincare they tend to get the short end of the stick. Show your lips some love and go above and beyond your normal chapstick and vaseline routine. Lip scrubs are incredibly easy to make, and because it’s a mild exfoliator your lips will feel softer than ever! Brown sugar and cane sugar mixed with a little coconut oil make great lip scrubs, and you can add lavender or peppermint oil to make your lips irresistible!

7. Use Essential Oils

Essential oils have tons of health benefits, but they’re also great for a little natural beauty pick-me-up! Make a natural perfume to leave you smelling fresh and clean all day, add a few drops to your favorite lip tint, or make an eyelash serum to fill out those lashes. You are truly only limited by your imagination when it comes to essential oils! They’re also great to help you de-stress and relax, which is truly the ultimate beauty tip to keep you looking and feeling like a million bucks.

8. Honey

We truly owe bees a big standing O, because when it comes to beauty, honey is a must-have. Use it on your skin to get rid of dark spots, acne scars and help decrease the sight of wrinkles. Use it on your lips for a quick moisturizer, or apply it to split ends to leave your hair looking healthier. Honey is an anti-bacterial, so it kills all the germs and gross stuff that can cause acne and blackheads, and it’s also packed with antioxidants which is a great anti-aging solution. Do yourself a favor and try it out on your skin for a glow that will leave you saying “yasss honey!”

9. Use Hot And Cold Water During Your Shower

Both hot and cold water offer their own separate health and beauty benefits, so it’s important that we expose ourselves to both! Cold water can cause your pores to tighten up, keeping out all the stuff that causes acne and it’s also great for your hair. Hot showers are awesome for cleansing your pores because all that steamy warm wonderful water causes our skin to relax, which allows us to get in there with out favorite facial scrub to clean out any built-up dirt and oil! It’s also great for clearing out your sinuses, which will leave you feeling more alert and awake throughout the whole day!

10. Detox!

Our bodies can tend to hold onto a lot of negativity (physically and emotionally), and this can close us off and leave us feeling run-down and just plain bad. Detoxing your body is super important to keep your body and your mind at the top of your game. Try making some cucumber mint detox water to flush out any toxicity from your body, and try meditation for a mental detox. If meditation isn’t your thing, try to take an hour out of each day to do something that will benefit your mental health. Read a book, paint a picture, take a nap; whatever you want! Just one hour a day can be enough to clear your mind and keep you sharp and open to new challenges!

11. Get Your Beauty Sleep

Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep! Without our full 8 hours, our bodies just cannot function at full speed. Besides the practical benefits of sleep, getting your rest has a ton of beauty benefits as well! For starters, you won’t need a remedy for those dark circles under your eyes if you don’t have them! Sleeping is also great for your skin! When we sleep our body produces collagen and our blood flow is increased, leaving our skin radiant and healthy! Not to mention, looking and feeling rested is an easy and positive way to feel beautiful!

12. Exfoliate

Our skin is constantly creating new layers of cells to protect our body from any foreign intruders. Because of this constant growth, old cells are continuously dying and building up on top of our skin. If we don’t properly take care of our skin, it can look and fell dull and dry. Make sure to exfoliate your skin at least once a week to get rid of all those old skin cells your body no longer has any use for and make room for the new healthy cells! Brown sugar makes for a great natural exfoliant, and pair it with a natural sea sponge for an all-over glow!
