If you are planning to go through sorority rush, sometimes the process can seem stressful, especially if you are unsure of what to expect or what you may need. Here are 20 must have essentials for sorority rush.
1 . Water Bottle
During recruitment the days can be long, and if you are rushing in the fall it will probably be hot. Bringing a water bottle with you is a great idea, especially because you will be talking for a good portion of the day.
2. Chapstick
Another good product to have for a long day, a good lip balm is a great way to help make you feel comfortable and put together.
3. Comfy Heels
You will most likely be wearing heels for one or multiple days during rush. Comfy heels are a must have, because you will want to be able to walk around all day and still be comfortable. A great pair of heels will go with any outfit, and is always a good investment.
4. Stain Remover
If you are someone that is prone to spilling things or getting stains on your clothes, a small stain stick is a must have. The last thing you want is to have to go through an entire day with a stain, and this is a really small easy thing to bring with you.
5. Mini Deodorant
Another necessity for a long hot day, bringing a mini deodorant is a great idea during recruitment to help you feel comfortable and confident.
6. Sunblock
If recruitment takes place outdoors, as they often do in the summer, sunblock is always a good idea. If you sunburn easily it is always a good idea to bring some sunscreen with you.
7. Mini Umbrella
This is another product that is good to have just in case. If it rains, a mini umbrella that you can keep in your purse is an amazing product, especially if you spend time on your hair and makeup. Even if your recruitment is inside, you most likely will be walking outside in between houses.

Keeping a small portable bottle of perfume with you is a great way to help you feel confident during rush. Your favorite scent can be comforting, and helps you make a good impression.
9. Hair Spray
If you do your hair for sorority rush, you want to make sure it will stay how you styled it the entire day. Having some good hairspray is important to keep your hair how you want it, especially if you spent time styling it.
10. Portable Phone Charger
You most likely won’t be using your phone much during rush, but it is always a good idea to have a phone charger with you just in case. Especially if you are unfamiliar with campus, you will definitely want your phone for directions. Many schools use an app for rush to rank your sororities, so it is also very important that your phone is still charged at the end of the day.

A small crossbody purse is the perfect bag to bring to recruitment. You can fit all your essentials, without worrying about carrying something too big around. A simple black crossbody is great because it will go with any outfit, and can be dressed up or down. You will most likely be walking a lot during recruitment, and getting a blister can be super distracting and painful, and you won’t regretting having some band-aids on hand.

Gum is another really simple product that is great to bring to rush to help you feel confident throughout the day.

Hand sanitizer is a product you can keep in your purse that is always a good idea. You most likely will be interacting with a lot of people, so it is never a bad idea to have hand sanitizer.

A compact mirror is great to check you makeup and make sure you look exactly how you want to. These are especially good if you want to stay off your phone during recruitment, and don’t want to use your front camera to check your makeup.
