5 Must-Go Festivals That Aren’t Just Coachella

Okay, we know Coachella is all over Instagram every year, and every year we get serious FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out, BTW), but there are loads of other festivals going on that might be even better, and maybe, just maybe, even more Insta-worthy. Also, Coachella is super expensive, super hot, and a lot of people come back and say it wasn’t really worth it. If you’re already over it, then this article is for you. Read on for 5 must-go festivals that will make you forget all about Coachella.

1. MO Pop Festival

This festival takes place in Detroit Michigan, on Saturday  27th and Sunday 28th July. The lineup is insane this year. Vampire Weekend, Tame Impala, and loads of other indie-rock bands are taking the stage. Plus, body-positive queen Lizzo, and R&B from Ella Mai and Kali Uchis, to name a few. There’s also loads of food and drink stalls at the park, so why not go and see this festival before it blows up and tickets are impossible to get hold of?

2. Godiva Festival

This festival takes place in Coventry, UK, and boasts previous artists like Jake Bugg and Professor Green, two huge UK acts. This year, there are performances by Busted, Frank Iero, and Steel Banglez, with multiple stages to choose from. It’s also super family friendly, so everyone can join in on the fun weekend. The best part? Tickets only cost £2 a day! How can you say no? This is definitely one to attend. It takes place this year from the 5-7 July, but this differs every year.

3. Lovebox Festival

This London festival is the talk of the UK right now. Literally, anybody who’s anybody has a ticket! This year it’s happening on the 12th and 13th July, and the headliners are incredible. Chance the Rapper, Solange, J Hus, Giggs, Brockhampton, 2 Chainz and Lizzo to name a few. With acts like these, why wouldn’t you want to go? Tickets go super quick every year, and the lineup just keeps getting better and better, so don’t waste time.

4. Austin City Limits Festival

Austin City Limits or ACL Festival takes place over two weekends, just like Coachella, in Austin, Texas- October 4th-6th and October 11th-13th 2019, in Zilker Park. This festival is huge, with a lineup spanning over multiple genres. For rap fans, there’s Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert, Childish Gambino and 21 Savage. For rock fans, legends The Cure and Guns N Roses will be performing. Also performing are superstars Billie Eilish, Kacey Musgraves, Tame Impala, and Lizzo. NBD, just a few of the biggest stars in the world right now. Yeah, it’s pretty much a big deal. This one is slowly becoming a new favourite. Do we spy the next Coachella?

5. EDC Festival

Electric Daisy Carnival, or EDC, already took place in Las Vegas in May this year. However, judging by the huge celeb turnout, you’ll want to be booking your tickets for next year. It’s an EDM festival, so you’ll be dancing the whole weekend away. Better book Monday off work. This year included Alesso and ASAP Rocky, two huge names, and in the past, Armin Van Buuren, Zedd and Tiesto have taken the stage. If you’re an EDM fan, this is not one to miss. We better get working on our festival fund.
