Mug desserts are the way to go when you are craving something sweet. Whether you are in college, having a girls’ night, or at home wanting something sweet for yourself. You can purchase premade mug desserts at almost any convenience or grocery store: Costco, Fry’s, Raley’s, Safeway, Walmart, or WinCo. You can even purchase them online on Amazon. However, I prefer to make my mug desserts from scratch and in my kitchen. If you are like me, when it comes to mug desserts, then check out this list of amazing mug desserts to make in the microwave.
Mug desserts are acclaimed for their unique scale and easy-to-cook production. From baking cookies, pies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, even donuts. However, the most popular dessert among the many mug desserts is cake. Vanilla cake. Chocolate cake. Even confetti cake. For any cake you wish to bake in your favorite coffee mug, you will need all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and milk. The rest will come, with whatever cake you decide to bake. So pick a mug, choose a cake, and get to baking. Just mix it all in one, and the microwave will do the rest for you.
The last mug dessert that makes the list of ones to try is the brownie. Next to cakes, brownies are favored for easiest and most experimented mug desserts to both bake and eat. To make a simple chocolate brownie in a mug, you will need ¼ cup of flour, ¼ cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa, a pinch of salt, a tiny pinch of cinnamon, ¼ cup of water, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, or coconut oil, and 1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract. If you want to go big with your mug brownie, make sure you have some ice cream handy. After mixing the ingredients, place your mug in the microwave and set the timer for 1 minute and 20 seconds. Depending on what watt your microwave is, you may have to keep an eye on your brownie. If it is not fully cooked, then pop it back in for another 10 or 20 seconds. Once all is said done and add a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of your mug brownie. Again, this is optional, but I highly recommend it.
Cookies! Everybody loves cookies. Whether it is chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, sugar, double chocolate chip, strawberry cheesecake, oatmeal, or—dare I say it—raisin. However, some of us only need one cookie to ourselves, instead of an entire sheet of them to satisfy our sweet need. Why not bake a cookie in your favorite mug in the microwave? It makes for the perfect mug dessert that you can enjoy, solo. To bake your standard chocolate chip cookie mug dessert, you will need the following ingredients. One tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, a pinch of salt, 1 egg yolk, ¼ cup of flour, chocolate chips, and 1 tablespoon of melted butter or coconut oil. After you mixed all the ingredients in your mug, cook it in the microwave for approximately 1 minute. When your mug dessert is done cooking, the top of your cookie will have a light tint. It may even look undercooked. Nevertheless, if you carefully press the top of the cookie, it will spring back. A sure sign that it is baked to its fullest, and ready to be enjoyed.
Do not tell me what I can and cannot make in a mug! Anything is possible if you believe! To successfully create a donut in your mug, you will need a few simple ingredients. Such ingredients include 3 tablespoons of flour, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of white sugar, a tiny bit of ground cinnamon, 1 egg, 1 ½ tablespoon of milk, and tablespoon of oil. Mix thoroughly before popping it in the microwave to cook for 2 minutes. After taking your donut out of the microwave, frost and decorate it however your heart desires. Not only is this mug dessert perfect for a night in with some hot chocolate or coffee, but it also makes a great dessert or breakfast for the little ones.
When it comes to mug desserts, pies can be a little tricky. I only say that because I have not yet made a mug pie, but I can only imagine the difficulties. To get started, you will need a couple of ingredients to bake your favorite fall dessert, pumpkin pie, in your favorite morning mug. A 1/3 cup of pumpkin puree, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of milk (whatever kind), 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, a pinch of salt, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla. After you pour the mixture into your microwavable mug, add some crushed cookies. Microwave your mug pie for approximately 1 to 2 minutes. Check every 30 seconds, to be safe. Voila. The season of pumpkin pie is back, in your coffee mug.
