Debbie Ocean (Bullock) is planning the heist of the year targeting the Met Gala after recently being released from prison and is gathering a team to pull it off.

Incredibles 2

The Incredibles 2 couldn’t come at a better time for female empowerment. Though the movie will pick up where the first left of, this time, Elastagirl will be out saving the day while Mr. Incredible stays home to play Mr. Mom.

Annihilation

Proud Mary, starring Taraji P. Henson, follows the life a female assassin who kicks some serious ass until she suddenly finds herself in custody of a young boy after a hit gone wrong.

Black Panther

For good. There have been several instances recently where old cult classics have been remade into movies with strong female leads… we’re talking about you Ghost Busters.

I Feel Pretty

Schumer is well known for her self-deprecating humor and I Feel Pretty is no different. Schumer plays Renee Barrett, a young woman who struggles with her looks, as most of us do these days, until suddenly she sees herself as the most beautiful woman in the world following a head injury from falling off a SoulCyle bike. With her newfound confidence, Barrett takes her life into her own hands and lives a life of empowerment.

Crazy Rich Asians

Release date: August 17, 2018

Constance Wu won our hearts with her role as Jessica Huang on the hit show Fresh Off The Boat. Now she tackles the big screen with her starring role in the movie based on the novel with the same title, Crazy Rich Asians. Wu’s character, Rachel Chu, an economics professor who suddenly finds herself in the midst of great wealth when she attends her boyfriends best friends wedding in Singapore.

Movies with strong female leads are taking over the big screens, and honestly, we aren’t complaining.
