If you are a sucker for movies with sequels, don’t worry, Mary Poppins has got one! Just released in 2018, Mary Poppins Returns follows the magnificent nanny once again, this time trying to save the Banks’ family home. The songs in this movie will have you listening to the soundtrack for days.

2. Thor: Ragnarok

Sometimes when we’re feeling down, we just need a really good laugh. Thor: Ragnarok (2017) can provide all the laughs you need on a rainy day. Unlike most superhero movies, this movie brings an immense amount of humor, but an awesome plot as well.

Marvel Studios isn’t known for being overly funny, most of their movies are serious with a little humor tossed in there. Thor: Ragnarok has all the humor, with a little seriousness sprinkled in. Audiences raved about the movie when it came out, and Marvel fans even claim it’s one of the best movies they’ve seen from the studio.

The crude jokes and hilarious one-liners will have you cry-laughing in no time. You’ll forget your bad mood instantly after you put this movie on. Not only is the humor great, the storyline of the movie is also also awesome! We get to follow the mighty Thor along with the Hulk as they fight to save Asgard from Thor’s evil sister Hela. 

Once the movie concludes you’ll want to give your TV a standing ovation. Lots of other Marvel movies will make you feel happy, but this one takes the cake for the ultimate mood booster.

3. To All The Boys I Loved Before

Sappy romance movies are never a good idea for a rainy day when you’re feeling blue. If you’re a sucker for some love, you’ll have to find a good rom-com to get your fix. 

Netflix has a great selection of rom-com movies, but their original, To All The Boys I Loved Before (2018), will have your heart swelling by the time the credits roll. 

The movie follows the story of Lara Jean, a high school girl who’s world gets flipped upside down when her little sister sends out letters she wrote to her childhood crushes. Thinking nothing of it, she falls into a fake relationship with Peter Kavinski, a boy she used to have feelings for. Chaos ensues and Lara Jean finds herself in a whirlwind of drama and romance.

Don’t worry about crying at the end of the movie, because they will be happy tears. You might feel down when you start watching the movie, but by the end you will never want to watch another romance movie again. 

4. Finding Dory

If you’re feeling extra sad, you might need a little blue fish to tell you to “just keep swimming”. Disney’s Finding Dory (2016) is the movie for you. If you grew up watching Finding Nemo you’ll be shot back into your childhood after watching Finding Dory

Starring Paul Rudd and Selena Gomez, this movie follows the story of a writer who retires to become a caregiver to a disabled teen. They head off on a road trip which helps them discover the true meaning of friendship and love, and each are able to heal their past wounds.

Most people expect Paul Rudd to be cracking jokes all the time, but this role brings out a more serious side of him, and it’s amazing. You’ll definitely be calling your friends after watching this movie and telling them you love and appreciate them. The Fundamentals of Caring makes everyone who watches it look at life in a different light. 

Your bad mood will dissipate after seeing this movie, and a bad day will become a good one!
