It’s nearly summer and you know what that means? Hot days, long walks and so many sweet treats, we didn’t work hard for this summer bod for nothing, right?! Maybe one of the best parts about the city of Toronto is all of the unique mouth-watering foods you can come across on any given day. The even better part, all of the mouth-watering desserts you can come across on any given day. Realistically what is better than strolling downtown on Queen Street West with your girlfriends and finding a better churro ice cream then the peanut butter donut you guys found the day before, I’d like to say nothing beats that. It’s time to indulge a little bit and enjoy the summer. Grab a cone, a shake or a smore’s stuffed cookie and check out these mouth-watering Toronto dessert spots. Trust me, you won’t regret any of it!
This Toronto ice cream shop might be one of my all-time favourites in the whole city. Their chunky ice cream selection is like no other shop I’ve ever come across. With unique flavours that are flooded with the sweet creaminess of an Oreo centre and chunks of cookies making their Golden Oreo ice cream a must try or taste the familiar flavours of vanilla ice cream with shots of torched caramel and crunches of sponge toffee that creates their delightful Burnt Toffee ice cream. At Bang Bang it’s almost impossible to not find a flavour that you won’t melt over faster than a scoop in the hot summer sun.
A recent addition to Toronto but a fast favorite, La Diperie leaves every customers mouth-watering at all three of their Toronto locations. Sink your teeth into an ice cream of your choice sandwiched between two fresh cookies and dipped in chocolate with whatever topping you can think of. Try adding a bit of salt to your dessert by covering your cone in savoury pretzels. The salty sweet combo will have you running back for more in no time.
This Queen St. West chocolate shop is hands down the best place to pop in when you’re craving something sweet. Specializing in gorgeous truffle and novelty chocolates. Don’t let them fool you into thinking that’s all they’ve got. Stop into Sweet Olenka’s this summer and feast your hungry eyes on their beautifully decorated red velvet popsicle or grab a scoop of their decedent chocolate ice cream. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
Not only does this Toronto shop make the most stunning, unique, artistic cakes you’ll likely ever lay your precious eyes on, but you can also stop into The Rolling Pin for a freshly baked Nutella filled donut, camp fire s’mores cookie or dip into a little bit of nostalgia with their homemade pop tarts. This Avenue Road bake shop knows just how to fill your belly with sweets and leave you wanting more.
Probably the coolest ice cream based dessert spot in Toronto right now (see what I did there, the coolest). Cool N2 is a liquid nitrogen ice cream shop that creates each unique frozen treat using, you got it, huge tanks of liquid nitrogen. Their signature treats are ‘popice’ topped with a drizzle of sweet syrup and chunks of fresh mango or have a little fun with their whisky chocolate flavour that comes with a full dropper of whisky syrup stuck in the ice cream scoop for you to pump in at your liking. Stop into Cool N2 for a sweet treat and since we know how much you’re missing school this summer, get a science lesson at the same time!
