Reality stars have an incessant need for attention, because why else would they want their life projected for the whole world to see? In general, most reality stars are strongly disliked, because they are wannabe celebrities; but these seven in particular have harnessed a reputation for being the most hated reality stars.
1. Farrah Abraham
If you don’t know who Farrah Abraham is, consider yourself lucky. Farrah Abraham’s reality career started in 2009, after she starred in MTV’s, ’16 and Pregnant’, which led to her participation in ‘Teen Mom OG’. Farrah Abraham was fired from MTV’s ‘Teen Mom’ in 2018, because she wanted to pursue the adult entertainment industry. Farrah Abraham is always making headlines and it’s usually not for a good reason…
2. Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag
There is just something about this couple that people hate… Spencer Pratt was staged as a TV villain in MTV’s, ‘The Hills’, which aired on MTV for six seasons from 2006-2010. Spencer Pratt began dating fellow cast member, Heidi Montag in 2007. Pratt’s relationship with Montag essentially ended his friendship with Lauren Conrad. When a celebrity wants attention, they usually stage some sort of dramatic event, but when Heidi and Spencer want attention, they stage a fake pregnancy scare and a fake divorce.
3. Josh Duggar
Josh Duggar is certainly one of the most hated reality stars. Josh Duggar is the eldest of 19 kids and starred in TLC’s, ’19 Kids and Counting’. In 2015, Josh Duggar was accused of molesting five girls, including a few of his sisters. Josh Duggar confirmed the reports by saying that he “acted inexcusably”. This scandal led to the cancellation of ’19 Kids and Counting’.
4. Kate Gosselin
Kate Gosselin was the star of TLC’s, ‘John and Kate Plus Eight’, which aired from 2007 – 2010. Kate and Jon Gosselin rose to fame because of their eight children, but sometimes things don’t always work out, because the couple divorced in 2009. Kate Gosselin has since appeared in several reality shows; she is currently the star of a new TLC show called, ‘Kate Plus Date’. Kate Gosselin isn’t the nicest person is the world, just ask her ex-publicist.
5. Jenelle Evans
Jenelle Evans starred on MTV’s, ‘Teen Mom 2’ from 2011, until she was fired in 2019. Drama seems to follow Jenelle everywhere she goes. If you have watched Jenelle on ‘Teen Mom 2’, then you know that she has bad taste in men. Jenelle Evans married David Eason in 2017; the couple has one child together, Ensley. In Spring 2019, Jenelle lost custody of her kids, because David allegedly killed the family dog. Since then, Jenelle has regained custody of her children, but her future reality career hangs up the air.
6. Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton is the granddaughter to Hilton Hotels founder, Conrad Hilton. Paris Hilton has starred in numerous reality shows, but her most notable role was in the Fox reality series, ‘The Simple Life’, which aired from 2003-2007. This reality star has tried her hand at acting, singing, and fashion. Paris Hilton always gets her way her, which is why she is one of the most hated reality stars.
7. Kim Kardashian West
The matriarch of the family might be Kris Jenner, but the Kardashians wouldn’t be the famous family they are today, if it weren’t for Kim Kardashian West. Ironically, Kim Kardashian’s friendship with Paris Hilton is what first put her on the map. In 2007, Kim Kardashian made a name for herself, when a sex tape of hers was released to the public. Not too long after Kim’s scandal, ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ appeared on the E! network; the show is currently on its 16th season. When it comes to Kim Kardashian West, people just love to hate her.
