5 More Affordable Alarm Clocks To Get You Up On Time

It seems as though you want yet more alarm clocks, or at least more recommendations. None of the products on this list are more than 30 dollars in price, so they should fit into most, if not all, dorm living budgets.

1. APUZOM Heavy Sleeper Alarm Clock.

The first item on our list is on the pricier side today, costing about 27 dollars on Amazon. However, the variety of functions this alarm clock brings to the table more than justify the relatively high price tag. This device comes with a high-power alarm, capable of reaching up to 95 dBs, or as loud as a motorcycle engine. This should wake even the heaviest sleeper. The clock also has a dual alarm system so you can set it to only go off on weekdays if you want to sleep in. Another great feature is the fact that this clock has a 10w wireless charger built into it, as well as a USB port for wired charging of other devices. The clock also features a calendar display, and while it runs of an outlet, you can slot in a pair of AA batteries as a backup power supply. All of this functionality is topped off with a sleek and modern form factor. All in all, a very strong start.

2. OnLyee Projection Alarm Clock.

For alarm clock number two, we have another higher-end device that will run you around 22 bucks on Amazon. This clock, manufactured by OnLyee, is a projection clock, meaning that in addition to the standard digital display, it has a projector lens that displays the time on walls or ceilings. This particular model was rated as the number 1 best-selling projection clock on Amazon, so clearly people like it. This product features a dual alarm system and battery backup options, but not as loud as the previous entry. However, its alarm does have adjustable volume levels and adjustable brightness, so you can make sure it’s never any louder or brighter than it needs to be. It also has a USB charging port for other devices and isn’t exactly ugly. One of my favorite features, and something that shows the target demographic, is the fact that this little device has a DST button. Yes, with just a single button press you can eliminate the hassle of manually updating your clock during daylight savings. This, combined with all the other features, immediately justifies the price tag, at least in my opinion.

3. Netzu Digital Alarm Clock.

For clock number three, we have a less fancy, yet more affordable offering. This one will cost around 20 dollars on Amazon, and is a solidly middle-of-the-pack design. While it doesn’t offer too many technological feats, it does have a sleek construction, with a sort of elegant simplicity. It does have a 0-100 percent dimmer, letting you make sure the light from the display doesn’t interfere with your sleep. If nightlights don’t bother you, this clock also includes an RGB nightlight feature. In terms of the actual alarm, it has a dual-alarm setup with variable volume and a 9-minute snooze timer. I’m not sure why people keep setting the snooze timer to nine minutes rather than an even ten, but I’m not really a sleep expert. The nightlight also has 3 levels of adjustable brightness and the large display makes it easy to read even from a distance. The clock comes in both black and white exterior shells, so you can choose which color fits your room better. The final feature is that this alarm clock has two USB ports for charging other electronics. Overall, it’s functional and practical without being overpriced.

4. DreamSky Compact Digital Alarm Clock.

Continuing our trend of simple and affordable alarms, clock number four is a digital clock that will run you about 17 dollars on Amazon. It’s notably compact and minimalist in its design, being somewhat smaller than an average brick. However, it still has a variety of features that make it worth considering. Aside from its compact size, it also features adjustable alarm volume, ranging from 30 to 90 decibels. If you have roommates or share an apartment, this variability can be a godsend. The alarm is easily enabled and disabled if you want to sleep in on the weekends though. The minimalist style and compact form factor make the design a solid pick for dorm living, as space is often a major consideration. Like the alarm volume, the clock’s display brightness can also be changed to fit your preferences and sleep habits. Like most alarms on this list it also has a USB port for charging other electronics. Like many corded alarm clocks, this one also has space for 2 AAA batteries that will keep it running and accurate in the event of a power outage. A very solid pick for those on a tight budget.

5. Tetino Analog Alarm Clock.

Our final alarm clock is a purely style-based choice, as it’s the only analog clock on this list. It’s also the most affordable clock on the list, with a price of just 16 dollars on Amazon. While it does require you to be able to read an analogue clock, its stylish design and charm more than make up for the inconvenience. The clock is battery-powered and the hands move without making any noise, making it unobtrusive and non-disruptive. Personally, I love the spherical shape and golden metal ring stand, and think they fit very well with many aesthetics. The clock also has a night-light function if you find yourself needing such a thing. In terms of power, it only needs a single AA battery to run, meaning it’s very cheap in terms of energy. I mainly put this on here as a decorative option, but it does have a functional alarm, though it may be slightly more difficult to program. It’s fairly intuitive to set up, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue. The last great thing about this alarm is that it’s very lightweight, and therefore easy to set up and move. It also comes in a variety of colors. Great if you want a fun little decorative clock with decent functions.
