Everyone’s experiences all differ here in the beautiful New Jersey oasis, but there are ten memories that everyone experiences when growing up in Ocean City NJ!

Ocean City, New Jersey. Home to all, even the shoobs. This island holds a special place in everyone’s heart. Maybe it was the place where you took your first ferris wheel ride, had your first kiss, surfed your first wave, or even had your wedding. Everyone’s experiences all differ here in the beautiful oasis, but there are ten memories that everyone experiences when growing up in Ocean City NJ:

1. Asking your mom or dad for tickets at Wonderland, and being surprised when they hand you a stack.

You run to the music express, log flume, or even decide to splurge the five tickets for the ferris wheel. You’ve been walking up and down the boardwalk for years waiting for the day where you can ride double shot. When the time comes, you’re buckled in and begin to panic. As you’re shot in the air, you’re filled with feelings of “I’m going to die” and “this is so beautiful, look you can see the ocean and all the way down the boardwalk!”

2. Taking a surf lesson from the 7th Street Surf Shop.

And then thinking you’re a professional surfer.

3. Walking down to the beach after a BBQ on the Fourth of July all decked out in red/white/blue waving your sparklers in the air ready to see some fireworks.

4. Pretending to be asleep when you see the army of beach tag checkers making their way up the beach.

5. Swimming in the ocean and hearing the lifeguard whistle.

You swing around, making sure you’re within the green flags. A few minutes later, you turn to see if you’re in the flags, you’re not. You make direct eye contact with the lifeguard. He just gives you a point with his finger to get within, sparing you the whistle.
