Meet the Queens: RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Contestants
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for– Mama Ru is coming back, and she’s bringing 10 fierce queens with her. It’s the third season of all-stars, and we cannot WAIT to see our favorite queens compete once again for the title of America’s next drag superstar. Meet (or reintroduce yourself) to the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars contestants for the upcoming season:
***WARNING: spoilers ahead!
1. Aja (Season 9)
The youngest queen to compete in this season (23) is fresh off last season of RuPaul’s drag race. Many say she was eliminated too early as she only came in 9th place, so we are hoping that in the short time Aja had between the seasons she was able to grow and become a more seasoned queen. Her incredible sewing skills and ability to slay look after look has us excited to see what she’ll push out of the werkroom on this season!
2. BenDeLaCreme (Season 6)
Everyone’s favorite feel-good queen is back! The lovely and charming Miss BenDeLa won Miss Congeniality season 6, and her elimination over Darienne Lake was one of the most controversial in her-story. After her Maggie Smith impersonation went viral, we cannot wait to see her (hopefully) slay another Snatch Game. We are ready for the Creme!
3. Chi Chi DeVayne (Season 8)
While Chi Chi struggled in the beginning of her season and felt put down because she did not have as much glam as the other queens, Chi Chi soared to 4th place in her season. Her southern attitude and iconic lipsync to “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” won our hearts and our support, and definitely won her a spot as one of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Contestants. I cannot wait to see how Chi Chi has grown in her years since being on the show!
4. Kennedy Davenport (Season 7)
Newark. LaGuardia. Kennedy. This fishy pageant queen is more than just looks– her incredible dancing skills and ability to slay any lipsync that may come her way brought her all the way to the top 4 on season 7. Her risk of doing boy drag for Snatch Game as Little Richie caused quite a stir in the werkroom, but her risk paid off as she won the challenge and made Snatch Game her-story.
5. Milk (Season 6)
2%, whole, half and half… it’s MILK. This queen is a hottie in and out of drag, but sorry boys, he’s taken. Inspired by the club kid era, Milk was a stand out on the runway for breaking drag norms. She was the first queen to wear a beard on the runway, and who could forget her Pinocchio nose?? She’s sticking to her quirky antics for season 3 all stars– she did the shoot for the season in a muscle suit!
6. Morgan McMichaels (Season 2)
This Scottish queen is from the good old days of drag, making her comeback to the Drag Race stage 8 years after her first appearance. Known for her punk-rock style and for her #BestFriendsGoals relationship with Raven, I am anxious to see if Morgan was able to keep up with the major trend changes that have happened in the Drag community since she first started.
7. Shangela (Seasons 2 & 3)
Shangela is the first queen to compete on 3 seasons of Drag Race. After being eliminated first from season 2 due to her lack of experience as a drag queen, RuPaul brought her back for season 3 as she felt she was ready to compete. She improved her game in season 3, and placed 6th in the competition. Will her experience competing on the show play in her favor?
8. Thorgy Thor (Season 8)
Who could forget this new-aged club kid? Thorgy is a Brooklyn born queen, who is entirely self taught. That’s right, she has no drag mother! That didn’t stop her from absolutely crushing it in season 8; she was constantly in the top (but never won a challenge). The RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Contestants for this season include friends of Thorgy like Aja and Chi Chi, which will hopefully work in her favor!
9. Trixie Mattel (Season 7)
The notorious Trixie is making her third comeback on Drag Race this season! Trixie has been busy with fellow season 7 queen Katya with their tour and widely successful show on Viceland, The Trixie and Katya show. Her witty banter and ability to improvise makes her an iconic comedy queen. We are so excited to see this fan favorite return to the show as one of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Contestants, bring on the wit and Barbie makeup!
10. MYSTERIOUS 10th QUEEN.
In true RuPaul fashion, Ru has decided to put a twist on the show before the season even starts. Who is this 10th queen we are all waiting for? Rumors say it’s season 1 queen Bebe Zahara Benet, but I’m secretly hoping for Naomi Smalls or Acid Betty.
BONUS: Did I mention that Nancy Peloci will be joining the judge’s panel? Peloci is a democratic member of the House of Representatives from San Francisco… seems like an interesting choice, but Ru knows best!
What do you think of RuPaul’s drag race all stars contestants for the upcoming season? Who do you think the 10th queen will be? Tune in Thursday Jan. 25th @ 8 pm on VH1!
