Growing up with blonde eyebrows, I never really saw a problem with them until I hit about 8th grade. I never thought about my eyebrows being super pale or that it was difficult to see them in certain light. Curse you fluorescent lighting! I became very self-conscious about them after receiving some not-so-nice comments from my so-called ‘friends,’ and I did what most people with my color eyebrows shouldn’t do. I over-plucked and colored them in super darkly so that you could see them, and they remained that way all through high school and my first semester of college. I wish I had a good guide for learning how to properly care for my light blonde brows as soon as I became self-conscious about them. I definitely learned my lesson the hard way, and now at 27 years old, I have the best tricks down with helping me out in the eyebrow department. These five makeup tips will have you feeling much more confident about your blonde eyebrows in no time.
I realize that this is a completely obvious thing to do with having eyebrows. As virtually all ladies out there know, well-groomed eyebrows make life so much easier! But with this makeup tip, finding the right brush for your brows is the key. I prefer to use an eyelash brow wand when it comes to taming my unruly eyebrows in the morning. The spoolie brush helps in getting the hairs to comb the correct way, and also helps in shaping my brow. An important thing to distinguish is where your eyebrow begins and where it ends. Yet, that can be difficult with having light brows, so make sure that you’re in good lighting, but nothing overly bright. I definitely suggest a magnifying mirror as well to help you in seeing those hairs that are so fine, they blend into your skin. Trust me, that mirror is a total lifesaver! My personal favorite eyelash brow wand to use is from e.l.f., which you can find at any of your local drugstores; I bought mine at Target. Just remember ladies to always brush your blonde brows before you do anything else!
Honestly, the eyebrow pencil is one of my best friends now, but back then, it was a completely different story. I definitely had a love-hate relationship with them during my high school years. But once I got into my mid-twenties, I realized that it’s time to re-try them and see how things go this time around. I now knew where I could find eyebrow pencils meant for my eyebrow color, and that less is more when it comes to applying it. For this makeup tip, you want to be sure that you get the correct color for your blonde brows. This usually means finding a blonde that is a shade or two lighter than your hair color. Because my brows are so light, I use the Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil by Maybelline in the color light blonde that I bought at Ulta Beauty. They offer a darker color blonde as well. I love using this color because it’s not too dark and blends together well. Eyebrow pencils are great tools to use for beginners in my opinion, because it’s easily corrected if you happen to mess up. One great thing about this eyebrow pencil is that it’s so thin there’s no need to sharpen it, I call that a win! Eyebrow pencils in the correct color can be a blessing for blonde eyebrows.
Now, the tricky thing about having blonde eyebrows is that they look so sparse a lot of the time due to how light they are. I had thicker eyebrows growing up, but because they were blonde, it made them difficult to see at times. A tinted brow gel is the perfect makeup tip to help remedy that. It aids in giving the illusion of having fuller and thicker eyebrows, which can definitely boost your confidence in the blonde brow department! One of my favorite brow gels to use is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Eyebrow Gel in blonde from Sephora. It’s super easy to apply, and goes on smoothly to help define your eyebrows. I love that this gel so effortlessly fills in any sparse spots on my brows, particularly where my eyebrows begin and where the tail ends of them are. Plus, this brow gel doesn’t get flaky or fades while wearing. You can rest assured that your eyebrow game will remain strong throughout the day! So, if you’re looking for those nicely noticeable thicker blonde eyebrows, then a tinted brow gel is the way to go.
If you’re not comfortable with using a tinted eyebrow gel, then a brow powder works just as well. Eyebrow powder works in the same way as a brow gel does by helping to fill in sparser areas on the eyebrows. I like switching between the two every now and then. I find that brow powder is lighter feeling and isn’t as pigmented as a tinted gel would be. This makeup tip is ideal for those of us blonde browed ladies who prefer the most natural looking eyebrows. This Brow Powder Duo by Anastasia Beverly Hills in blonde from Sephora is one of my favorites to use when it comes to those days that I want a more natural look for my makeup. It’s perfect because my eyebrows can still be seen, and they look to be like there’s no makeup on them, which I absolutely love. Eyebrow powder was an obvious lifesaver for me because I’m a huge fan of the natural look, and natural looking blonde eyebrows are simple, yet elegant without looking like they took 30 minutes to do. Ladies, this is one makeup tip that will be your holy grail in the eyebrow department.
This makeup tip is super easy to achieve and will have your eyebrows looking sleek as heck in no time! Blending the makeup you applied on your eyebrows is important, and will prevent you from having differently tinted areas on your brows. This makeup tip goes ten-fold for blonde eyebrows since the hair is already light, and color can be more easily seen if not blended properly. Trust me when I say that blending your makeup well into your blonde brows will save you from any sort of public embarrassment. I always use my spoolie brush to blend my makeup, and to make sure that it’s evenly distributed throughout the brow. I also use a tissue to gently wipe off any excess makeup so that my eyebrows don’t look so obviously colored in. This trick is one of my favorites to use in helping to blend my eyebrows, and creates a softer more natural look. Don’t forget to blend, blend, blend my blonde browed friends!
