5 Lipstick Shades That You Need To Wear This Fall

As we are saying goodbye to summer, days are getting shorter again and you push your cute shorts and strappy dresses to the back of the wardrobe, your makeup doesn’t need to be dull. Lipstick can make or break a look and this fall there is no need to be dull. Red, brown and orange are all autumnal colours that are easy to dress to in the colder months and will give life to any drab outfit that needs a bit of TLC.

Red

Red lips are the most iconic beauty trend of all time – and better yet it goes with almost any season. Spice up your fall wardrobe with a cute red lip, adding a splash of colour to a once dull look. You can pair this red lip with literally anything – your go-to all-black outfit, a cute skater dress and tights, or a t-shirt, trainers and jeans. What is also great is anyone can suit a red lip.

The looks you can create with this lip colour are endless. Dress up or down for any occasion, the red lip is the most classic of looks and will definitely be a go-to in your makeup bag this autumn.

Rimmel London’s lasting finish lipstick gives the pop of colour you desire and is an amazing texture so glides on the lip. Its high street brand does not come at an expensive price either. What a bargain!

Nude

In the nude, everyone is different. Different shades of nude will suit different people. The benefit of this is that there are millions of looks to choose from! The most classic and go-to nude colour would be Mac’s Velvet Teddy. It’s the one nude lipstick that will suit anyone that tries it. Although more on the pinky side, you can pair with a brown gloss or a colour gloss on top to tailor it to your needs. Velvet teddy is truly one of Mac’s best creations, plus, they last forever!

Mac may be a little out of your price range, so the Revolution Iconic Matte is just as good. It is trial and error with a nude shade, so you should go and have a play with the lipsticks to determine what is the best shade for you. But if you don’t have time, these are the two best nude shades on the market.

With both lipsticks, they are pink based nudes. But their texture is to die for and they both glide on your lips. With some matte lip colours you may find you need to put a primer on first so they don’t dry out your lips too much, but with these two shades, there is no extra moisturiser needed. Need I say more?

Burgundy

Mix brown and red and you create possibly the most autumnal colour you could ever get. This lip colour needs to be in your wardrobe this fall. You may feel less confident wearing a bold statement lip colour like this, but everyone needs to be daring. Spice up your makeup looks like you pumpkin spiced latte and grab a burgundy shade which you love. Pair it with a messy bun and a cute dress with boots and you have the perfect autumn look complete. Believe me, once you start wearing this colour lipstick, you will never be able to stop!

Revlon’s colour stay lipstick range really does do what it says on the packaging. It really lasts a long time, which is great as it means you don’t have to keep topping up, therefore more lipstick for you to use for a longer period of time. The purple tones in the burgundy are to die for and the dark red tones, well, I’ll let you discover that.

Brown

Of all the colours this is the most controversial, not everyone can pull off a brown lip. But after all, it is autumn and we believe that anything is possible if you try hard enough. Test out some brown sades before you grab the one you like to see what is best for your skin tone. Browns need a plainer outfit or something ideally with that tone in so it makes you pop. If you go for a dark, pair with a light makeup look, or if you go for a light brown (near on nude) then you can add whatever colour you feel is right.

The best thing about brown lipstick is they’re great for the winter too, so you really get your use out of them. Lipsticks don’t need to be just a one outfit thing. Why shouldn’t you plan your outfits around what lipstick you would like to wear that day?

NYX lipsticks are lipsticks made in heaven. This particular one is in the matte range and has a really nice texture. Also, the packaging is basic, but who doesn’t love basic? Its completely black packaging is a dream when you have a range of really nice lip colours, all the focus goes on that.

Orange

Now, orange doesn’t need to be a summery colour. After all, Halloween is in fall right, and pumpkins? Burnt orange will defiantly be an in colour this year, whether it be on your lips or in your clothes. If you dare, you could even wear a bright orange to make a dull outfit pop with colour. Orange is a risky lipstick, but if you can pull off a red (and everyone can) and you find the right shade for your skin tone, there isn’t anyone stopping you.
