10 Lingerie Inspired Looks To Wear Out

Lingerie is one of themes beautiful and elegant pieces of fashion, so it should be worn outside for everyone to see. With as much as we pay for this, there should be ways for it to be worn out. This is a bit more challenging in trying to pull off but if you can wear it right, you’ll have a sexy and sophisticated look.

1. Slip Dress

Slip dresses are peak of 90s fashion and they are making a major comeback. These are beyond stylish and can be a sexy solution to any occasion. You can dress this down with a white tee and sneakers for a casual day look, or you can throw on heels and hoops for a night out. Slip dresses come in so many different frames, go for a mini slip dress for New Year’s or a midi slip dress for going to the ballet. These are versatile from season to season and for varying occasions.

2. Lace Teddy and Shirt

Do you ever have such a stunning piece of lingerie you need everyone to see it, but it’s not always appropriate for streetwear. Throw a fitted teeshirt under your lace bodysuit to show off the gorgeous lace. This dresses up your otherwise boring look, and adds some extra spice to your outfit. Pair this with jeans so that you have a chic and semi casual look.

3. Bralette or Bra As Top

Do you ever have a bralette or bra that you just love and you hate hiding it under your shirts. Wearing a bralette as a top with high waisted paperbag pants is a great daytime outfit that can transition into a night out. Bralettes come in so many forms and wearing one as your top is bold. This is a great substitution for a crop top, instead its usually lacier and prettier than a plain crop top. I’ve done this a few times and I love the feminine look it gives that a normal crop top wouldn’t provide. I have far too many beautiful bralettes to just let them sit in my drawer, these were made to be seen so I’ve found ways to make them seen.

4. Sheer Shirt and Bra

If you don’t want to go full on bra or bralette as a shirt, putting a sheer shirt on over it gives you just enough to show off that bra or bralette with giving you a little more coverage. This is especially ideal for winter when you need layers, even if it is a thin sheer layer. It also makes your look more elegant than just a bra or bralette as your shirt. You can pair this with a midi skirt for a nice dinner date night. It adds just enough to make it appropriate for essentially anywhere but still shows off that cute bra you have.

5. Silk Cami Top

All those cami and short sets you buy to sleep in are super cute for pajamas, but the cami top makes a perfect shirt to wear with a cardigan when your cotton camis are just too blah. The fabric dresses up your outfit and makes it a little more flirty than a teeshirt would. Wear this in summer with shorts or winter with a mini skirt and cardigan. You’ll love that this top is so versatile beyond sleepwear.

Corsets have kind of gone out of trend in lingerie fashion, they aren’t as popular as teddies or baby dolls but corset tops are actually super cute and don’t have to be the stereotypical corset top you think of. Rompers have taken over fashion and come in every single form from causal to formal. This has even his sleepwear from pajamas to lingerie. A lingerie or pajama romper can be dressed up for a comfortable look for running around the city. I have had two that I’ve used, a full jumpsuit that was made for pajamas that I paired with wedges and a cardigan for a summer look and a sheer white romper that I used as a bathing suit cover up. These may seem like they wouldn’t be appropriate outside of sleeping in, but these are actually really cute and if you dress it right, it’s a great look.
