Now that school has resumed, it is time to start thinking about college events and what to wear to them; don’t worry, we have you covered. We will style you for your college events here!
Everyone knows one of the best college events to look forward to are the game days; one of the best times to show off school spirit and go all out! When it comes to styling for game day outfits, there is really a limitless amount of directions you can take. The easiest way to go is to dress head to toe with your school’s merchandise. If you don’t have that many clothing items with your school’s name on it then don’t worry; the most important thing to do is to rep your school colors as much as possible! The best part about dressing for game days is that you don’t need to worry about matching your fit and you can go all out with accessories to add an extra fun touch to your outfit.
Nobody likes rolling out of bed in the morning and heading to an early morning class, but who says you can’t be just as comfortable for class as you were in bed? Comfy outfits will be your best friend for the most common of all college events: Classes. There are a plethora of different ways to style a comfy outfit depending on what mood you are in or what the climate is outside; you may want throw on a cute pair of Lulu leggings or sweatpants, or if it is not too cold out yet you will want to opt for a pair of comfy biker shorts.
When you go to school where it gets cold, college events can sometimes be harder to style for because you also have to worry about staying warm. Have no fear, there are plenty of ways to not freeze and still look super cute! First and foremost, you can take the advice of fashion icon Hailey Bieber and invest in a puffer jacket for the winter. The best part about puffer jackets, other than the fact that they are ultra comfy and great for keeping you warm, is that they can be found in all sorts of colors and styles. For a more stylish look, you may want a cropped puffer like Hailey’s, or if you just want to be comfy and warm then an oversized puffer coat will do the trick.
Going back to the most prominent of college events, going to class, there may be some days where you are feeling in the mood to put in a little bit more effort into your outfit. Lucky for you, it is super easy to find a lot of outfits that are both cute and still casual for class! One example may be wearing a baggy pair of jeans with an oversized tee, this is an outfit that is both more comfortable yet still has a twist of style and a little more effort. You may also go about this by pairing your jeans with a cute sweatshirt, or even by wearing leggings with a chic sweater.
For some of us, parties are among the list of college events that you look forward to the most. Styling an outfit for a party is simple, but you also want to make sure to stray away from being too basic; parties are a time where you can wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and ready for a good night, so try not to go for the safe option when it comes to your outfit. Play around with different styles such as unique materials, color schemes, or combinations! Don’t be afraid to wear something more glittery or more flirty such as mesh or a star pattern.
On days where your schedule is not filled up with more traditional college events, you may want to take a night out to go hangout with friends outside of your campus! When doing that, you might want to opt for a chic and stylish outfit that is perfect for a nice dinner or more formal night that is not partying at a frat! One way you can go about it is by choosing to wear a silk bodysuit with your favorite pair of jeans or any sort of outfit with a blazer. You want to make sure to keep your color scheme to more neutral colors that way you maintain a more modern and mature look.
Whether it be a job or an internship, college events are not always all about fun and partying. However, you can still make the experience of working a job or internship a little less dreadful by having fun styling an outfit! Similar to your outfits for a night out, you are going to want to play close attention to your color scheme to ensure that you maintain a simple and chic look. You may also want to play around with the idea of adding a modern twist to otherwise more traditional pieces such as work suits, blouses, or trousers.
College events that may require you to wear more formal attire include formals, semi-formals, or any other type of dance. For these events, you’re going to want to find a dress that you are not only comfortable in, but also one that makes you feel confident. You are also going to want to coordinate your outfit in such a way that it almost looks effortless; be sure that your shoes and your accessories complement your dress perfectly.
The key to this next one on our list of college events is to dress to impress. When rushing for greek life, you are going to want to fill your wardrobe with nice sundresses, rompers or skirts and cute sandals or flats that are easy to walk around in. You are going to want to try your best to pick out an outfit that sets you apart from the rest of the group and is personalized to your unique style and preferences! Be bold, wear what makes you happy and comfortable.
