5 Juiciest 2019 Celebrity Scandals You Have To Hear

The best Celebrity Scandals are a mirror to the societal anxieties, contemporary tensions and repressed desires of the moment in time they unfold within. They also satisfy our craving for some good gossip and salacious schadenfreude, propping up a billion-dollar media industry dedicated solely to rumour mongering about famous folk.  Even though we aren’t even halfway through the year, we’ve already been blessed with some exceptionally juicy Celebrity Scandals. Here are five of the 2019 causes célèbres you just have to hear if haven’t already!

1.) Celebrity Parents & the College Admissions Scandal

Many of the most memorable Celebrity Scandals involve a stunning fall from grace, a reminder that even the stars can suffer or sin. In March, actress Felicity Huffman and sitcom star Lori Loughlin were both indicted in a major college admissions scam. Both celebrities were implicated in the college admissions bribery scandal, paying large sums of money to ensure their children received places at prestigious institutions on fraudulent grounds. Whilst Huffman quickly pleaded guilty, Loughlin refused a plea deal and could face a lengthy prison sentence. The whole thing sounds like it’s straight out of Desperate Housewives!

2.) Jussie Smollett Allegedly Fakes a Hate Crime

This one could only happen in Trump’s America. When Empire star and singer Jussie Smollett claimed he was the victim of vicious racist and homophobic hate crime by two men who screamed: “This is MAGA country!” However, shit got very dark quickly when the Chicago police accused the actor of staging the attack in order to boost his career. Whilst charges have been dropped, Smollett’s career is currently DNR thanks to the backlash the whole mess ignited.

3.) Jordyn, Tristian and the Kardashian Klan

When Jordyn Woods, the former BFF of Kylie Jenner was revealed to have hooked up with Khloe Kardashian’s baby daddy Tristian Thompson, the internet melted down within seconds. Initially, new mother Khloe enjoyed the support of the public and Woods was quicked to the curb. However, Jordyn displayed some real PR savvy when she sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith to tell her side of the story – eliciting significant sympathy that only increased when Khloe kept up the drags on twitter. Of course, the real winner is the ratings for the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

4.) Leaving Neverland Destroys Michael Jackson’s Legacy

Ever since the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland premiered it has been impossible to listen to a Michael Jackson song without guilt and for good reason. The doco explores the impact of Jackson’s abuse on two of his former victims in horrifying detail, interviewing them as adults still deeply traumatised by their encounters with the pop superstar. The renewed allegations sparked an international backlash that became a death blow to the King of Pop’s image. Sometimes the best Celebrity Scandals simply speak truth to power.

5.)  James Charles & Tati Westbrook’s Beauty Vlogger Beef

This is the current drama fueling the celebrity gossip machine. Insanely successful makeup YouTuber James Charles lost million of subscribers after his former friend and fellow beauty vlogger Tati Westbrook released ‘BYE SISTER’ on her channel. In the over 40 minute video, Westbrook accused Charles of being a shit friend, predatory gay and shady queen. Most amusingly, the whole thing was apparently started when Charles endorsed SugarBearHair vitamins, a rival to Westbrook’s line. Charles recently fired back with a video titled ‘No More Lies’, refuting many of Westbrook’s claims and what is likely to be just the latest chapter in the ugliest influencer feud EVER.
