5 Italian Restaurants Across LA To Dine At

There is never a bad time to have cravings for Italian food! Given that Los Angeles (LA) is the second-largest city in the United States, there are a plethora of options to select from in terms of restaurants, type of dining setting, and/or cuisines. There are many Italian restaurants across the city and its’ surrounding suburbs.

The next time you are in Los Angeles and in the mood for Italian food, these are the five Italian restaurants that you have to dine at:

1. Jon & Vinny’s:

The hotspot owned by Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo has two locations across Los Angeles in Fairfax and in Brentwood. Jon & Vinny’s is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the city and one will see tons of posts on social media of the restaurants amazing food. The family friendly restaurant offers unique pizzas (‘The Margherita’ and ‘The Gladiator’ pizzas are among customer favorites) and fresh pasta (the spaghetti and the spicy fusilli (see photo below) are highly recommended. 

2. Osteria Mozza:

This Italian restaurant is run by Nancy Silverton and world-famous restauranteur Joe Bastianich. Located on Melrose Ave., Osteria Mozza strives to serve the highest quality of Italian food with the freshest ingredients. The restaurant’s main attraction is its’ mozzarella bar where diners can find Silverton personally preparing small dishes with freshly imported burrata and mozzarella. Although there is no pizza on the menu, Osteria Mozza’s sister restaurant Pizzeria Mozza nearby (both restaurants are 2 minutes away from each other) for a slice. 

3. La Pasta & La Pizza Eataly:

One cannot leave the Westfield Century City Mall without grabbing a bite to eat at La Pasta & La Pizza Eataly. Eataly takes up two floors and La Pasta & La Pizza Eataly is one of several restaurants (all of which serve authentic Italian Food) inside the establishment’s space. As the restaurant’s name suggests, it serves delicious and freshly made pizzas and pasta. La Pasta & La Pizza, along with the other restaurants present a familial vibe and the quality of their food is nothing but the best. It is first-come, first-serve, so make sure to come early as the lunch hour is the place’s busiest time. Don’t forget to stop by the market and purchase some fresh groceries and to stop by the first floor to enjoy some gelato post-meal.

4. Forma Restaurant & Cheese Wheel:

Have you seen any food-related posts on social media that show various Italian restaurants serving fresh pasta that is prepared in a cheese wheel? If you are craving pasta served like that, Forma Restaurant & Cheese Wheel in Santa Monica is the place to go to! Famous for its’ renowned pasta, this place serves some of its’ pasta dishes ‘Dalla Forma’, which is a unique preparation method where freshly cooked pasta is then finished in large cheese wheels before it is served. The chitarra cacio e pepe is to die for! Don’t forget to try their famous cheese bar as well!

5. Felix:

This Italian Restaurant is located on the popular Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice. Using the freshest ingredients from state farms in California, Felix’s menu pays homage to Italy’s most beloved culinary regions. Felix is renowned for its delicious pasta and the restaurant even has a glass-enclosed temperature-controlled pasta where diners watch owner Evan Funke himself make the pasta from scratch. The Pasta options on the menu are broken down by region.
