Is Chivalry Dead? Or Have Women Become ‘Settlers’?

Is chivalry dead? Has it become a foreign concept in the dating world today? Do women even know what chivalry is and looks like? When it comes to men, women and dating, here's my opinion on whether or not chivalry still exists.

Is chivalry dead? Has it become a foreign concept in the dating world today? Do women even know what chivalry is and looks like? These are the types of questions that prance through my mind when I take a step back and look at how so many women, myself included at one point, have let men do the absolute least. And we praise their minimal effort, like remembering how we love the feel of Trojan Bare Skin condoms, as some type of grand gesture of love.

A man should always open doors for a woman and pull out her chair to sit down.

The catch is though, that we women no longer demand these types of gentlemanly-like things. Hell, you’ll probably find a woman opening the door for her man before you see him do it for her.

I blame no one but us ladies!

We let these men do whatever they want and treat us however they want. A man doesn’t know how to show chivalry towards us because we don’t demand he do so. We’ll give up the a** and want a forever with a man after one night of him whispering sweet nothings in our ear and buying us a $25 meal at Cheesecake Factory.

We have made it incredible easy for men to not act like true gentlemen but then will have the nerve to complain about it.

You didn’t demand for him to treat you good sis, that’s why he’s acting up :insert rolling eyes emoji:! You can’t get mad at a man for not holding the door for you when your ass never required for him to do so before.

Now, don’t misconstrue my words and go be a supreme bitch to a good guy or play hard to get. All I am saying is that it’s time for us to stop saying “chivalry is dead” and acknowledge how we women are the ones that killed it by being settlers in love.
