70s Inspired Clothing You Need Now

The 1970’s in America was the dawn of a new era. The baby boomers were getting old enough to comprehend what was happening, a war dominated the country for half of the decade and the age of free love was slowly slipping away. That doesn’t mean things were all bad. With the changing times came changing fashion.

While clothing may seem like a bunch of trends that come and go each decade had a dress code specific to that time. A lot of these pieces have become timeless and nostalgic throughout the years, but when they were modern and new these clothes meant a lot to the people who were wearing them.

If you’re interested in broadening your horizons when it comes to fashion this list is for you. Below are seven 70’s inspired clothing items that will still look fantastic today.

1. Satin Slip Dress

This is a dress that will make you feel like you are in fact a Dancing Queen. This era brought to light dance music. Granted electronic dance music may seem a far cry from the Bee Gees, these artists really ushered in a new genre of music. If you truly want to have a closet full of 70s inspired clothing a long, satin slip dress is something you need. It will hug your body in a way that is scandalous but it’s also long enough and provides enough coverage to where you won’t feel exposed at all.

Although if you aren’t exactly feeling the urge to splurge on a pair of actual go-go boots instead consider a shorter take on the style. These 70’s inspired boots are wonderful because they don’t look costumey at all. The way that they’ll hit you just barely mid-calf makes them modern.
