Ahh, Jersey Shore. You love it, you hate it, you can’t rip your eyes away from the screen regardless. These people don’t seem like real life, but characters in a scripted TV show. The best part? It’s real. If you’re feeling like you need some GTL in your life, here are 10 iconic Jersey Shore episodes to watch.
So obviously this had to be at the top of the list or you would be mad that I didn’t list it higher. The infamous note, you know it, you love it. I have a tapestry of the whole written note hung in my house at college, it’s that iconic. If you don’t know The Note, Sammi Sweetheart finds an anonymous note about Ron’s promiscuous behavior when they were apart. The best part? JWoww and Snooki wrote the note. Obviously drama ensues, because it always does. Iconic.
One of Snooki’s more iconic arrests was when she was so wasted she could not locate the beach, which was right in front of her. As JWoww and Deena try and reel Snooki back in, she only breaks away to run straight into the ocean with her purse and then again only to fall into the sand. Three cops then take notice of the large crowd that has gathered to watch drunk Snooki fall over the beach, and arrest her for public intoxication. Snooki is resistant to the arrest, insisting she is a good person and Jenni has to call Snooki’s dad from the duck phone, which is just about the most ridiculous sentence I’ve ever written.
Your favorite toxic couple is fighting again, shocker. This is The Fight, though. Ron and Sammi are both getting worked up throughout the night. Ron is mad at The Situation for telling Sam that what JWoww and Snooki wrote is the truth, considering it the “ultimate betrayal.” This all is a recipe for disaster, so obviously a blowout fight is in the midst. Ron and Sam get into a monumental fight where Ron begins to literally take the mattress out from under Sam and try to throw all of her stuff out over the balcony. It’s one of those “Rahn stahp” moments that you don’t want to miss, and it’s all insanely absurd.
There truly is nothing like Pauly D and Vinny trying to diffuse the tension in the house by putting on an Italian-themed comedy show. The two dress up in their tracksuits and try to present themselves as “one of those guidos who try too hard.” There is a ton of irony in that statement as is, since that’s the whole premise of who they are. The two literally stereotype themselves while things in Italy are getting a bit tense, which is the perfect comedic break and it is literally one of the most ridiculous stunts the two have pulled.
M.V.P hitting the G.T.L, what gets better than that? The boys in the shore house used the term GTL, gym, tan, laundry, to refer to the three chores they would complete when they weren’t getting blackout drunk. They quite literally make it an event to go to the gym, then hit the tanning beds (sometimes twice), and go to the laundromat. It was their boy time while the girls went to do other things in order to compete with the other Juiceheads in Seaside Heights, duh.
Italy was nothing but chaotic for the Jersey Shore squad, and this episode really embodied that. Mike and Ronnie are fighting, of course, because Mike told Sam that Ron claimed he was going to bring five girls home when the arrived in Europe. Ron then began to trash Mike’s room out of complete rage, but that was not all. Mike appears to work himself up so much during this fight that he runs head first at a cement wall, which subsequently knocks him out. Mike walks around with a neck brace and gets super emotional, the whole nine yards.
Oh, Angelina. What a wild ride this woman brought to Jersey Shore. From entering the house with all her clothes in trash bags, to constantly feuding with Vinny, Angelina surely made her mark on the Jersey Shore crew before ultimately getting kicked out of the house (and then returning later.) In this episode, Angelina finds her roommates turning against her after hooking up with Vin and then trying to take home someone Snooki had smushed. The final straw for The Situation is when he finds a used pad in the bathroom, where he proceeds to shout the iconic insult that is “you dirty little hamster.”
The gang goes to Atlantic City, which is always code for disaster is about to strike. The Situation, as per usual, is looking to start some drama up among JWoww and Snooki; so when Snooki asks for a roll at dinner, he comments that she already has a couple rolls. When JWoww gets sick while at the club, she asks Mike to walk her back to the room. But, Mike had since stolen Vinny’s girl and told Jenni to go herself. When he refuses to talk to her in the room still, she punches him in the face. Honestly, well deserved.
We’ve got a stage 5 clinger, as they would say. Pauly hooks up with a girl named Danielle, and then she is never not around. He goes to a club, she is there, not far away from where him and his friends are. When Vinny and Pauly are walking with a group of girls, Danielle comes up to him multiple times telling her to call him like he “promised” to the night before. After telling her he will later multiple times, she calls him when they get home. He calls her a stalker and hangs up, classic Pauly and Vinny content.
So apparently it’s a thing to quite literally stalk Pauly D. Meet Vanessa, later dubbed The Real MVP by the boys. Vanessa showed up everywhere, and was a certified celeb stalker in general. She would be there when they ate lunch on the boardwalk, be at the clubs they partied at that night and always wore some sort of Pauly-related merch. Vanessa even flies to Miami when the Jersey Shore gang travels there for a season. Pauly, naturally, handles it well and ends up talking to her. So cute.
