Iced Tea Recipes You Won’t Wanna Spill

Iced tea is the absolute best summer drink. It’s fruity, delicious and refreshing. Plus it has the same great health benefits as normal tea, such as boosting your antioxidants. Antioxidants work to prevent the body’s version of rust and thus help to keep us young and protect us from damage from pollution. Amazing! Because we love them so much and know you do too here are plenty of iced tea recipes you won’t wanna spill.

Basic Iced Tea

To begin we’ll start off with the classic flavour and recipe. The basic iced tea is the base for any great concoction to come but is also really yummy on its own. You can either use your traditional breakfast tea or a specialty such as green or peppermint.

In a saucepan bring just over 2 cups of water to a gentle boil. Add 6 normal size tea bags of your choice and remove the saucepan from the heat and cover. Leave for fifteen minutes for the flavour to be released and absorbed.

After that, remove the tea bags (do not squeeze as this adds their bitter and sourness). Pour the tea into a heatproof container and on top of that add 6 cups of cold water and stir. Leave until cold either at room temperature or in the fridge and serve over ice. For a little something extra garnish with lemon, mint, and sugar.

Mango Iced Tea

Mango to me is the ultimate summer flavour. Very tropical. It’s packed with nutrients. There are two different steps to this recipe making the mango into a syrup and then making the tea.

Place 2 peeled and diced mangos, 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water into a saucepan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Eventually, bring to a high simmer for about 10 minutes often mashing the mango so it goes to a liquid.

To make your syrup into the iced tea fill a saucepan with 6 cups of water and boil. Add ten tea bags and boil for a minute before removing from heat. Leave to steep for five minutes. Pour the tea over ice and finally add about 4 tablespoons of your mango syrup into the glass.

Raspberry Iced Tea

Raspberry iced tea is a great replacement for sugary pop and has a pretty pink colour which makes it a wonderful non-alcoholic beverage to serve at BBQs.

Bring 4 cups of water to boil and then remove from the heat. Add 3 tea bags and allow to steep to get the flavour and caffeine for fifteen minutes.

In a separate pan add 4 cups of water, 1 cup of sugar and 12 ounces of raspberries. Boil over a high heat and squish the raspberries while carrying on cooking for 10 minutes. To finish combine the two in a large pitcher and as always serve over ice.

Peppermint Iced Tea

As we all know mint and peppermint is so refreshing. What could be more perfect on a hot summers day? The health benefits are endless from antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Because of this, peppermint tea may fight clogged sinuses due to infections.

Onto the recipe now. Stir one cup of peppermint leaves into 2 quarts of boiling water and allow to cool. Some may prefer to leave overnight to steep for flavour but really fifteen minutes is fine. Strain into a glass that is filled with ice and add sweetener. You can use sugar or even honey.

To make these recipes even better and amazing for a BBQ or party buy some cute glass drinking jars, decorative umbrellas, and environmentally paper straws. Enjoy!
