6 Iced Tea Recipes For The Summer

With summer just around the corner, it’s time to dust off those sun loungers, light the BBQ and soak up some much needed Vitamin D. But summer days can be too long and too hot – what you need is an ice cold beverage! These 6 iced tea recipes are PERFECT for a hot summer’s day, with some classic combinations and some new twists, there’s something for everyone!

1. Lemon Lime Twist Iced Tea

This citrussy iced tea is a sweet yet refreshing, the perfect fix for a chilled afternoon in the backyard. It’s super easy to make, and a classic combination that everyone will love!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Orange Pekoe Tea Bags
  • 6-8 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 Whole Lemon
  • 1 Whole Lime
  • 500ml Boiling Water
  • 500ml Cold Water
  • 2 Cups Ice

Method:

  • Steep the 2 tea bags in 500ml boiling water for 1-3 mins
  • Remove the tea bags from the water and stir in the sugar until all dissolved
  • Add 500ml cold water and to the mixture and leave to cool completely in the refrigerator
  • Slice the lemon and lime into wedges
  • Add the ice, lemon, and lime to the cooled mixture. Serve!

2. Berry Blast Iced Tea

This berry blast iced tea is a fun and exciting twist on a classic summer drink. The sweetness of the berries and the tangy orange pekoe are a match made in heaven – you HAVE to try this one!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Orange Pekoe tea Bags
  • 6-8 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 Cup Chopped Strawberries
  • ½ Cup Blueberries
  • ½ Cup Blackberries
  • 500ml Boiling water
  • 500ml Cold Water
  • 2 Cups Ice

Method:

  • Steep the 2 tea bags in 500ml boiling water for 1-3 mins
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until dissolved
  • Add 500ml cold water, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries to the mixture. Leave to cool in the refrigerator
  • Add ice and serve!

3. Minty Sweet Iced Tea

The refreshing taste of mint is just the thing to cool you down on any hot day. It’s zingy, sweet and super easy to make! – This one is a great mixer for summer cocktail making!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Orange Pekoe Tea Bags
  • 8 Tsp Sugar
  • 10-12 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 500ml Boiling Water
  • 500ml Cold Water
  • 2 Cups Ice

Method:

  • Steep the 2 tea bags in 500ml boiling water for 1-3 mins
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until all dissolved
  • Add the mint leaves and 500ml cold water
  • Cool in refrigerator
  • Add ice and serve!

4. Orange Fizz Iced Tea

Ingredients:

  • 2 Orange Pekoe Tea Bags
  • 8 Tsp Sugar
  • 2 Whole Orange
  • 500ml Boiling Water
  • 500ml Sparkling Water
  • 2 Cups Ice

  • 2 Cups Chopped Watermelon
  • 500ml Boiling Water
  • 500ml Cold Water
  • 2 Cups Ice

Method:

  • Steep the 2 tea bags in 500ml boiling water for 1-3 mins
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until all dissolved
  • Cool in refrigerator
  • Add the chopped watermelon and 500ml cold water to the mixture
  • Add ice and serve!

6. Pink Grapefruit Iced Tea Slurpee

As much as a classic iced tea is the perfect summer drink, why not step it up a notch and try an iced tea Slurpee? It’s just the thing to cool you down on a hot day, and it’s super easy to make. This one has grapefruit it for that extra sour kick!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Orange Pekoe Tea Bags
  • 8 Tsp Sugar
  • 2 Whole Pink Grapefruits – peeled and chopped
  • 500ml Boiling Water
  • 4 Cups Ice

Method:

  • Steep the 2 tea bags in 500ml boiling water for 1-3 mins
  • Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar until all dissolved
  • Cool in refrigerator
  • Add the chopped grapefruit and the ice to the mixture. Mix in a blender until the ice has disintegrated and the mixture is smooth
  • Serve!
