IKEA, oh how I love you. Family outings to IKEA filled me with excitement and anticipation, as I was eager to see what new and awesome things were in stock. I dreamed of what I would put in my future home, and how it would all flow together. And those ideas changed every time due to the new items. IKEA knows how to design all of the spaces in a house and apartment. I wish I could live in IKEA.
And that’s the best part! They know how to design furniture for both a house and an apartment! And they show you how to, too. Those little apartment examples that they have throughout the store can show you that you can semi-comfortably live in 391 square feet! Those small apartments never cease to amaze me! It sounds like it should be impossible to fit so much in such a small space, but it is possible! And I want to live in one! I want to live in an IKEA tiny apartment. I hope that I can make my apartment look that put together and comfortable someday.
IKEA also has the perk of being pretty darn cheap when it comes to furniture. Which is awesome! Granted you have to build it all yourself, but that’s OK if it means that I can save a butt-ton of money. And the furniture is not that hard to put together, and if you get a friend to do it with you it can even be fun. I remember my best friend had 4 pieces of furniture to build, and was all alone, so she called me over to help. We threw on a movie, ate ice cream, and built all of the furniture. It was a good night with good memories. And it’s all thanks to IKEA that we have those memories. I wish I could live in IKEA.
But back to the store and its never-ending wealth of awesomeness! One of the best marketing strategies that IKEA ever came up with is that they make you walk through the whole show-floor before you can exit. They make you look at everything, and they make you want all of it too. And there are multiple floors, and sandwiched in between floors is the IKEA Cafe. Yes, the place that serves the heavenly Swedish meatballs and chocolate cake. Well played IKEA, putting your cafe in the middle of everything. And in keeping with the IKEA trend, the food is also insanely affordable! Make a pit stop there and gather up your energy before heading down to conquer the next floor and to collect your items on the stock floor (my mouth is watering just looking at these). I wish I could live in IKEA.
Personally, the lower floor is my favorite. It’s where they house the awesome kitchen gadgets that I love, and art that I love to look at. I could wander around and look at that stuff for hours, and in all honesty I have done just that. I just want to live in IKEA. It’s my happy place.
IKEA is like Disneyland for responsible adults, or young adults who dream about how they want their home to look. IKEA can also be called a real-life house-themed Pinterest board! That store never fails to impress and inspire. Because of IKEA, I wanted to be an interior designer for a long time. And I wish that I could live there! Living in IKEA would be the dream; well, my dream at least. But I guess I’ll just have to settle for owning a few pieces of their furniture.
IKEA, I love you. You are the best. You are where I have made family memories and have laughed my hardest. IKEA, you inspire me. I wish I could live in IKEA.
