I Tried Kayla Itsines’ Sweat App For The First Time And This Is Why I LOVE It

I was that basic girl last year that decided that my New Year’s resolution was to starting living a healthier lifestyle by eating well and working out everyday. As I started looking into gym memberships, kick boxing classes, and other workout routines, I came across the Kalya Itsines BBG (Bikini Body Guide) Workout App. After doing a little research on her workout app, and talking to some friends that are apart of her BBG community, I decided to give it a try. I have been apart of the BBG community for quite some time now, and I’m here to tell you why I LOVE Kayla Itsines’ app, and why you should join the BBG community too!

1. The BBG Community is amazing

As I struggled to get myself off the couch to workout, I realized that I needed a community of women to help motivate me to take better care of myself and my body. Once I joined the BBG community, I found that motivation and group of women I was looking for. This community is so powerful, and so, so inspiring. You can join a BBG community based off of your hometown or home state, by searching for groups on social media, like Instagram and Facebook. Once you join your BBG group you will meet others with similar goals for a healthy lifestyle, and together, you will help motivate each other to meet these goals!

2. It only costs $19.99/month

This app costs less than a gym membership, and offers a lot of other perks too. From the planned workouts, to the weekly nutrition guides, progress pictures, and educational eBooks, you really get what you pay for (and more!). You can either pay for the app monthly, which is what I do, for pay once for the entire year. Also, depending on when you sign up, the app may be offering a discount for the first few months. (Example: when I first joined, they were offering the app for $1 a month for 3 months. Such a great deal!)

3. Weekly nutrition guide

One of my favorite parts about joining the BBG app is that you are given a weekly nutrition guide filled with various suggestions of foods to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, pre and post-workout, snacks, and even dessert. Kayla Itsines offers a wide variety of foods, so you are bound to find a few things that you will like. You can also check out her website and even Pinterest for other food suggestions. I love this part of the app because I always find something healthy to eat, and all of the recipes are very quick and easy to make, which is perfect for when you are always on the go!

4. Weekly challenges

One way that Kayla Itsines keeps the BBG community motivated is by holding weekly challenges. The challenges vary each week, from 200 pushups, 100 burpees, or anything in between. These challenges are a fun way for the community to compete against each other AND add an extra workout into their week. The challenges do get competitive, which makes it even more exciting. Take the weekly challenges — you won’t regret it!

5. The weekly workouts are planned for you

Kayla Itsines has each workout planned for you by week, so you start off at a beginner level and eventually get to the advanced level. The great thing about having planned workouts is that you don’t have to struggle to figure out what to do, and you won’t get bored doing the same routine everyday. The workouts are 28 minutes long, with 2 circuits that you will repeat twice. There are 4 exercises in each circuit, and Kayla Itsines has videos and pictures to show you how to do each exercise correctly. This was super helpful for me because I learned how to do each exercise and I never had an excuse to skip one!

6. You start at your own pace

Whether you are a couch potato, you workout occasionally, or you are a hard core athlete, this workout app is made for everyone! Once you join the BBG community, you will create your personal account. You will be asked some personal questions, like your weight and height, and you will be asked if you workout or not, and how intensely you workout. I suggest starting out at the beginner level because the first 4 weeks give you basic exercises to help get you back on track. After the 4 weeks, your workouts will start to get much more intense and advanced, but by that point, you will be ready for it!

7. Convenience of doing it in your own home, the park, the beach, etc.

Another reason why I love this app is because I have the convenience of doing it wherever I want! All I need is my cell phone, headphones, a yoga mat, and a few weights, and I am ready to workout! I always love doing my workouts at the beach, or by the park with some friends. When it is time for me to complete the running/walking exercises, I usually go down to a school to run on the track so I could count how many laps I run.

8. 7 Day Free trial

Kayla Itsines offers a free, 1 week trial to everyone that signs up for her app. This trial is a great way for you to get a feel for her app and the structure of her workouts. You have the option of trying the app, and if you don’t like it, you can always cancel your account before the week is over. Although, chances are you will love the app just like me and look forward to completing your workouts everyday!

Tip: You can also go on Pinterest and find Kayla Itsines’ workouts. Try them out and see if you like them!

9. They offer more than just cardio workout routines

Kayla Itsines has teamed up with Sjana Elise and Kelsey Wells to offer yoga and post-pregnancy workouts. This is a great tool because if you aren’t feeling your workouts one day and really want to do some yoga, you can click on the ‘Body and Mind’ tab under ‘More Workouts’ on the app, and will be directed to a yoga routine. I suggest doing the yoga at least once a week!

10. You actually see results!

There’s nothing better than looking at yourself in the mirror and noticing results! You will start to feel much more confident and proud of yourself for sticking with the workouts and getting them done each week. In addition, there is a progress tab in the app, where you take a picture of yourself when you first start the app, and then take new pictures each month to see how far you have come! If you feel super confident and post your progress pictures on social media, tag Kayla Itsines and the BBG community, and she may even give you a shoutout!

I have see her shoutout so many people on the daily, and these posts motivate me to continue to work hard and achieve my goals. The app is so much more than just a place to lose weight and get fit. It is about creating a strong community of women who are there to help motivate each other and make each other feel super confident with themselves. It is truly such a unique experience and I am so happy that I joined this community! I hope you take the chance to look up the Sweat App and join the community too!
