How To Throw The Best Friendsgiving
The best time of the year is quickly approaching and that means it’s time to celebrate. Thanksgiving is a special time often reserved for family but why not make some time to celebrate with your friends too! Whether you are far from home or just want to celebrate before you head that way, Friendsgiving is the perfect opportunity to get all your friends together and eat way too much food while making memories that will last a lifetime. Organizing the ultimate Friendsgiving can be quite the task so here are some ideas to make sure you know how to throw the best Friendsgiving anyone has ever seen.
1. Have everyone bring their favorite recipes.
Tell all of your friends to bring their favorite thanksgiving treat! You can still prepare the turkey, but this will take some stress away so you aren’t cooking the whole feast. It will also be fun to see everyone’s different thanksgiving traditions. Make sure to talk about what everyone is bringing so you don’t end up with a table full of mashed potatoes and nothing else!
2. Have a place where everyone can reflect on what they are thankful for.
Create a board where everyone can write how they have felt blessed this past year. You can also cover the table in packing paper and add some lines at each table setting to express what each person is feeling grateful for. (This makes for a super cute and easy tablescape!)
3. Pre-made setups
Speaking of tablescapes, if doing it all yourself seems overwhelming, there is tons of pre-made options like Friendsgiving in a box that you can buy to make your table look professionally done!
4. Decorate
Throw some decorations up around the house to feel extra festive and take some pictures to show off the best Friendsgiving. Easy DIY decorations are Thanksgiving balloons with clever sayings on them or a cornucopia piñata!
5. Have some games to play.
Games make for pre-dinner or after-dinner fun. Look up a few Thanksgiving inspired games or pull out a group favorite for a good time!
6. Create the perfect playlist.
Put together your favorite music to have playing in the background throughout the meal. Add some group favorites and have everyone singing along and I promise it will be a time to remember. (Don’t forget to add your favorite Christmas songs at the end, because it’s Christmas as soon as Thanksgiving dinner ends right?)
7. Have Containers for leftovers.
With all the food that comes with having a thanksgiving meal, you are sure to have leftovers. Rather than keeping all of the food to yourself or throwing it away, have doggy bags so that everyone can take home their favorite parts of the Friendsgiving meal. Personalize them for an extra special way to remember your fabulous evening!
8. Prepare yourself and stay organized.
Planning a party can quickly become overwhelming. As boring as this part may be, creating a checklist and thinking ahead will make for a smooth and fun transition to party time. You will spend much less time worrying about the details of the day and more time enjoying the awesome friendships you have!!
