How To Stay Fit In College Without Even Thinking About It
You’re going into the new year with two words: spring break. Well while it is awhile away your New Year’s resolution is to get fit and losing 10 pounds to fit your new bikini isn’t a bad thing. Here are some helpful tips to do just that.
1. Water.
It is important to stay hydrated no matter the weather and drinking a full cup of water before your meal will help to stop you from overeating. A food way to spice up your water is to cut up mint/basil leaves with your favorite fruits for delicious infused water.
2. Snacks.
Instead of eating 3 larger meals try eating several smaller meals throughout the day. 5 meals will keep you from eating heavy portions.
3. Working out.
As a college student take advantage of your school gym. It’s free and your apartment complex might have one as well. Even if it is as small as a 30 min jog or some sit-ups routine will get you in the swing of wanting to incorporate it into your lifestyle.
4. Meal prep.
Don’t have much time during the week? Prep on Sunday for fast and easy lunches that will be healthy and keep you away from on temptations like Papa John’s.
5. Cardio Early.
Waking up can be a drag. Snooze on your alarm seems relaxing but a quick morning run/walk will make you feel awake and ready for the day.
6. Cut out intake of soda.
Try vitamin water or 100% fruit juice instead.
7. Watch how much you eat out.
Eating out with friends is fun but normally you end up not eating the healthiest. Try planning ahead what to eat .
8. Fitness apps.
Tracking steps to progress each day is motivating. Seeing what others have done will get you pumped to reach your goals as well.
