How To Spend This Fourth Of July In Austin

Independence day is quickly approaching and it’s time to break out the Old Navy American flag t-shirt your mom got you. Austin is the perfect city to celebrate our country’s independence this Fourth of July. Live music, fireworks, outdoor activities, barbeques, and fun are what Austin does best. Make sure to enjoy the day with your friends and check out some local festivities.

Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic

Austin 360 Amphitheater 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617

Who better to spend the 4th with than Willie Nelson? Every year Willie and a couple of his talented friends host a Fourth of July picnic, concert, and firework display hosted by Budweiser. Head over to Circuit of The Americas to catch Luke Combs, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Alison Kraus, the Nelson family, and Willie’s famous partner in crime, his guitar Trigger. You can purchase tickets for the event in the Austin 360 Amphitheater at The Circut of The Americas.

Fourth of July Fireworks Paddle

Rowing Dock 2418 Stratford Dr, Austin, TX 78746

The best place to catch the firework display over Lady Bird Lake is the lake itself. The Rowing Dock provides late night rentals for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards so you can get the best view. Grab some friends and celebrate America’s independence from the heart of Austin. Make sure to buy your tickets to reserve your rentals — this event sells out every year. Keep in mind that dogs and infants are not permitted.

H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks

Auditorium Shores, 900 W Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78704

H-E-B and the Austin Symphony Orchestra come together every summer to put on the largest firework display in Austin. The spectacular firework show is accompanied by beautiful classics from the Austin Symphony. Of course, they’ll be performing American classical songs to celebrate our independence. Admission is completely free, but tens of thousands of Austinites show up every year so prepare to arrive early.

The 4th at Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company

1305 W Oltorf St, Austin, TX 78704

Enjoy ABGB’s famous pizza and beer while listening to a set from fiddle player, Warren Hood. The independence day celebration is in collaboration with Hell Yes Project and Ghisallo Cycling Initiative. The event begins at noon on the 4th with cornhole boards, a watermelon eating contest, Warren Hood, and a commemorative group photo. At 7:30 the group will ride their bikes to the Auditorium Shores for the firework display and symphony.
