It’s tough being underage in the city that never sleeps. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun! From the classic house party, to going to see your favorite band live in concert, there’s plenty to do. Here’s a few ideas on how to party at SJU when you’re underage!
This seems like a no-brainer, but make some friends off-campus! Drink responsibly and take a buddy with you, but otherwise it’s the best place to both chill out and get crunk.
If you hang out in D’Angelo enough, you’re bound to get sucked into a free concert or event at some point. On Thursdays especially, there’s DAC After Dark from 8-10PM, where you can take on fun activities with fellow Johnnies. Ain’t no shame in free entertainment!
Here’s a plan: Practice your 8-ball in the game room on weekdays, then when the weekend hits grab some friends and head to the nearest pool hall! There’s a few in Flushing, just a short bus ride away.
Feeling artsy but still wanna go out? Put on your chicest outfit and stop by the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Fat Cat Jazz Bar or Cafe Wha? to get your fix.
Whether you’re from NYC or not, this is the time to get out there and reap all the benefits of being in college in a city like ours! Take a party bus tour, see a concert at Webster Hall, the possibilities are endless! What are you waiting for?
