How To Pack For Vacation In A Carry On
Sometimes we go a little overboard and over-pack for our vacation trips. There’s so many places to see and so many parties to attend. If you’ve ever traveled, you know how expensive and crowded it can get when you have too many “essentials” packed. Here’s a secret though, I know the tricks. Here is how to pack for vacation and fit it all into one carry on!
First things first, toss the B.S. That’s right! Don’t add huge bottle sized products. Stores like Wal-Mart and Target provide us with the wonderful world of minis. They also only range from $0.50-$1.50. This will save so much space and will avoid the mess of the bigger bottles getting crushed and possibly all over everything.
Items like these minis can easily fit into spare sneakers. You might not even need to pack these items. If you are staying at a hotel, they offer freebies in the bathrooms too. You’re paying for the hotel anyway so you might as well enjoy the freebies they give.
Less is more here; be simple and only pack essentials
For this I have packed:
- Make-up
- Deodorant
- Make-up brushes
- A hair brush
- A flat iron
- A pair of flip-flops and converse high tops
- Undies and bras x3
- Socks, PJs, and shorts x3
- Shirts x5
- Pants/jeans x 2
- Capris, a dress, and a bikini
- A toothbrush
Many times we think that we just have to have our hair dryer, flat iron or curler. Let’s be honest you’re not gonna shave ANYTHING while you are there. Vacation usually means warm sun and water, flat iron and curler not included. However, if these are a must have “wrap them & stack them.”
It’s 2017, the majority of hotels and motels have blow dryers. This brings me to the wonderful world of “war paint,” or make-up. Again you are not going to an awards show. You do not need a whole other suitcase or bag for make-up. Get a quart or gallon size ziploc bag and pack what you really need.
Beauty products you’ll actually use
- Moisturizer
- Face & eye primer
- Foundation
- Powder, bronzer & blush
- Eyeshadow, eyeliner, an eye curler & mascara
- A two-sided lipgloss
Once you have stuffed and rolled all your items in your bag zip it up. If there is anything else you just have to have, like jewelry or more beauty products, you can stuff those in the front or side pockets of your carry on. Now that everything is packed some of you may be curious to know “what about the wrinkles?” That is a simple fix as well. If you do find that you have any wrinkles go to the bathroom and put the shower on the hottest setting. Hang up all the wrinkles clothing and shut the door for 20 minutes. This will get any wrinkles out.
