We all constantly strive to look better especially with the culture we live in today. Kids look at Kim Kardashian and want to look just like her. But she is not displaying true beauty because she has gotten extensive plastic surgery. Changing your look shouldn’t be a negative thing and you should do it for yourself. I think it is important to know how to make ourselves more appealing (to ourselves especially) without actually changing our physical appearance. Below are some things you can do to change your look.
Working out has been proven to reduce stress and aggression levels. Workouts release endorphins (which improve your mood). There was a study at a university in 2015 where people said that the more they exercised, the more confidence they had. They felt more attractive. They felt like their life was more balanced as well. Of course, workouting also makes you have a more fit body, which is usually seen as more attractive. Maybe changing your look will be beneficial in the gym.
People who are seen as nice or as a good person are found more attractive. Researchers found that men who complimented women or vice versa were seen as more attractive. Men and women who gave compliments were given a second date compared to others who did it less. Complimenting or helping others also makes you feel good. Have you ever given to someone who was less fortunate and that made you feel better? That shows you that this works.
Changing your look starts with a smile. Smiling and laughing are very important. Smiling makes people more comfortable. If you see someone who has a RBF (resting b*tch face), you are less likely to walk up to them then someone who is smiling. It is in our DNA to avoid those who are seen as less welcoming. Smiles are a signal for attractiveness. This can also effect your view of your own attractiveness. If you smile at yourself in the mirror, you will have the same response as someone that you love smiling at you. So, start smiling more. Laughing makes you more attractive because you are seen as someone who can take a joke. Laughing together increases attraction between two people. There is a higher chance someone is interested in you the more they laugh at your jokes.
You need to stop thinking negatively because it will tear down your self confidence. Confidence is one of the biggest aspects that makes someone appear attractive. Someone who is not very attractive but has a lot of confidence can be seen just as attractive as someone who is more physically attractive with less confidence. Start living for yourself and not caring what other people think.
Posture makes you look and feel good. Standing or sitting up straight signifies confidence and power. It is proven that people who have good posture have higher levels of testerone and feeling of power. This can boost your own self confidence when you are in an uncomfortable position. If you are having trouble, a way to stand up straight is to act like there is a crown on your head with a invisible thread attached to your spine. Relax your arms and bring your shoulders. You don’t want to be pushing your chest out. If you have been slouching for years from your chair at work or your bed at home, it is never too late to fix this.
Changing your look means that you might need an upgrade in your closet. If you look good, you feel good. Dress for yourself. Whatever makes you feel confident and hot, you should wear. You are more likely to feel attractive in a casual dress than sweat pants. Some outfits can make you appear sexier, smarter, or more successful (like a baggy shirt vs. a work suit). Also, if you incorporate a little red into your outfits, you are seen as more attractive. Red is known to represent passion.
Having a night time care routine can make you feel more put together. Sometimes I feel like when I put a face mask on, it makes me looks drastically better. It changes my mindset that much. If getting your eyebrows, eyelashes, or hair done, makes you feel better. Then do it. Your mind controls so much of how you feel so take care of yourself.
If you fake it, you will start to believe it. It is based off the law of attraction. The more you desire something then eventually it will be manifested into your life. Say that you are really struggling with confidence. It is hard to acquire it. The easiest way to get it is just faking it. Learn the difference between confidence and arrogance because when people fake it, it can come across as arrogance. “Mind over matter” describes how our brains are greater than our bodies. If our brain tells us to act a certain way, we will.
Getting a good night’s sleep may be the most important thing making yourself more attractive. If you are getting about 8 hours of sleep a night, it can make you more attractive. The skin has time to regenerate after the sun exposure and sweat. A lack of sleep can cause stress, weakened immune system, and you can be more emotional. If you get enough sleep, you won’t have bags under your eyes and your body will work better. Also, your complexion will be better. People tend to have less acne and fresher looking skin. Your hair will look better. If you don’t get enough sleep, it can effect your hair growth.
